Back to Back podium finishes puts Griffith within striking distance of GSPSS point leader<\/strong><\/p>\n (Hudson, NH) \u2013 17 year-old Derek Griffith is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with on the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS).<\/p>\n Griffith found himself on the podium again after finishing in second place at Monadnock Speedway on August 9th. Derek rolled off ninth in the nineteen car field and quickly moved towards the front. The car was consistent and the driver, even more so.<\/p>\n Derek talked about bringing the No. 12 Mom\u2019s of Manchester\/LCM Racing Toyota Camry to a second place finish, \u201cWe had such a good car here at Monadnock. I love this track and we know the exact set-up we need. I was a little worried after we suffered that flat, right front tire but it\u2019s just another example of the team working so good.\u201d Griffith now sits in the third spot in the season long point standings, just 23 points behind leader, Larry Gelinas. Star Speedway is up next for the young rising star. The GSPSS visited Star June 28th and in that race Derek came away with a 5th place finish.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m still not thinking about the point\u2019s battle. We have some big races coming up and our focus is to get our race car into victory lane. We haven\u2019t finished worse than 8th this year but we haven\u2019t tasted victory lane either.
