Hermon driver John Curtin Jr. led the first 29 circuits, but was passed by Paul White of Corinna on lap 30. McLaughlin then passed White on lap 31 and led to the checkers in the caution free race. Lloyd Nickerson of Corinth returned to the speedway following a three week absence and came from a 9th place start to post a second place finish. Third went to points leader Brenton Parritt of Steuben with John Kalel II of Orrington finishing fourth. Seekins had challenged early leader Steve Moulton of Holden, leading briefly on lap 18, until Moulton retired on lap 32 with engine failure. Seekins then led from lap 19 until he was passed by Watson on lap 38. Dean Clements of Brooks finished third in the race that was stopped for 40 minutes on lap 2 when Glenburn’s Emma Libby hit the turn three wall after spinning in oil dropped on the track by Nick Huff’s expiring engine. Libby had to be extracted from her car after complaining of neck and back pain, and was transported to the hospital for observation. 12 year old Dylan Street of Old Town finished fourth in his first outing in the new for 2014 touring division, and Franklin’s Mike Overlock finished fifth.

Zach Audet of Skowhegan raised his win total to 12 for the season in the Coca-Cola Sport-fours after taking the lead from Hermon’s Andrew Crosby on lap 4 of the 25 lap race. Crosby finished fourth after Chris Carroll of Greenbush was disqualified in post race inspection for illegal tires on his car. Ed Archer Jr. of Clinton finished fifth. Audet also took over the points lead in the division after Garett Hayman of Milford was eliminated for the night after hitting the back stretch wall head on when the right front wheel came off his car while he was leading the 10 lap qualifier.

In the Pepsi Beverage Company Strictly Streets, Jordan Pearson made it six for the season after fighting off a stiff challenge from Keith Ogden of Holden in a four lap dash to the finish. Pearson and Ogden battled closely for several laps leading up to the caution thrown on lap 21 of the 25 lap race for a back stretch spin by Al Libby of Brooks. On the restart, Ogden worked hard on the inside to unseat Pearson for the top spot, but Pearson prevailed and picked up the win. Ogden finished second followed by points leader Alex Berry of Harrington. Ellsworth’s Bradley Norris finished fourth with Cornville’s Matt Libby in fifth.

Racing returns to Speedway 95 on Saturday, September 6, with the Dysart’s Late Models in a regular 40 lap feature, the Darling’s Ford Sportsman and Coca-Cola Sport-Fours will do 25 lap features and the Pepsi Beverage Company Strictly Streets will race 35 laps in the third race of the Pine Tree Waste series.

Harrington’s Andrew McLaughlin took the lead in a flurry of activity on lap 31 of the 40 lap Dysart’s Late Model feature at Speedway 95 and picked up his third win of the season.
