(December 5, 2014) \u2013 Donny Lia and Mark Sypher have joined forces to run the 2015 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) in the No. 8 Chevrolet.<\/p>\n<p>Lia, the 2007 and 2009 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion, is looking forward to this new opportunity.  In late October, it was announced that the two-time champion would be parting ways with Mystic Missile Racing, which he had raced for since 2007. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really excited about this new challenge,\u201d said Lia.  \u201cI want to thank Mark for his interest in partnering with me and for the opportunity to drive his cars.  We\u2019re really creating a new team from the ground up and it\u2019s exciting to have this fresh start.\u201d<br \/>\n <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Sypher, who has been a NWMT team owner for nine years, is excited about the opportunity to combine resources with Lia and build a championship contending team in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoining forces with Donny is going to put us in a great position for 2015,\u201d said Sypher.  \u201cI do want to note that I wish Glenn Reen the best in his next opportunity.  He\u2019s a hard working individual and did a great job with what we had.  This decision primarily is based on combining resources with Donny to create a better race team and contend for a championship this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lia, who has 17 wins in the touring series, will pilot a LFR Chassis in 2015. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really think we\u2019ll have a championship winning team right out of the gate,\u201d continued Lia.  \u201cWe\u2019ve got good cars, good motors and some good people.  I\u2019ll have a few guys coming back from my #18 days, which I\u2019m really excited about.
