(March 25, 2015) – Rob Fuller Motorsports will run a second car in select races during the 2015 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT). Ron Silk will drive the No. 40 15-40 Connection Chevrolet for the team.

“I feel it is very important for us as a company to continue to develop our product line,” said Rob Fuller, owner of LFR Chassis and Rob Fuller Motorsports. “Ronnie has a great deal of experience in this division and will be a great pilot for our car as we try different set ups and test different packages and pass along the data to our LFR Chassis customers.”

“This is an important year for LFR,” continued Fuller. “We will have customers running for wins and championships so it will be difficult for them to test many things. It will be up to us to keep them informed on updates and changes we make that will improve their performance. Our goal is to continue to test and prove theories without passing the expense on to the customer; this will be a definite advantage for us all. We will double-up on the exposure for the 15-40 Connection as well so it’s a win, win.”

Silk has a long history of success in the series, as he was the 2011 NWMT Champion and has a total of nine wins, 53 Top-5 and 83 Top-10 finishes. He previously drove for RFM in the 2014 North-South Shootout at Caraway Speedway where he finished third. Silk most recently finished fourth overall in the 2014 NWMT standings with five Top-5 and 11 Top-10 finishes.

“I’m really excited to partner with RFM and LFR Chassis this season,” said Silk. “It was great to do the North-South Shootout last year. I liked the way the car drove and look forward to getting acclimated with it more. It’s great to have the opportunity to drive for a team with smart people working across the organization such as Tony Eury Jr., Jeff Fultz, Ryan Stone and Tony Eury Sr.”

“I went to Rob’s race season kick-off party and met Mr. Coghlin and heard first-hand about 15-40 Connection’s mission to spread the message about the benefits of early cancer detection,” continued Silk. “It’s really cool to be able to represent them and this great cause.”

Silk will be teammates with Corey LaJoie who will pilot the No. 15 15-40 Connection Chevrolet in the same seven NWMT events. The duo have strong family ties dating back a generation.

“Corey’s father, Randy, is my godfather and my father is Corey’s godfather,” explained Silk. “The LaJoie family is from Connecticut and we’ve known each other for a long time. My dad (Scott Silk) worked on Randy’s cars at Danbury. So, this is really cool for us to be teammates this year. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

This season marks the third year Rob Fuller Motorsports and 15-40 Connection have teamed up to increase awareness and empower individuals with the lifesaving advantage of early cancer detection. Together they are starting a new cancer conversation that begins with a simple, yet powerful question “Would you recognize a cancer symptom?” to the forefront of public discussion.

SHREWSBURY, Mass.
