\"11143314_817939311617141_5352264894352086923_n\"<\/a>After week five of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action was rained out
\njust after hot laps concluded last week, New Smyrna Speedway is hoping for
\nbetter weather this Saturday night as week six of the season will feature
\naction in the Super Late Model, Sportsman, Modified and Bomber classes.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Super Late Models return for their second points race of the year with
\nMarch 28th winner Anthony Sergi of Oviedo leading the drivers expected to be
\nin action. Wayne Anderson of Wildwood was a surprise entrant two weeks ago
\nand he finished second to Sergi. It remains to be seen just how much racing
\nAnderson will do himself here this year as he is guiding the careers of his
\ntwo sons Randy and Ricky again this season. Veteran Orlando racers David
\nRogers and Brad May are expected in the field as well as Port Orange driver
\nMichael Lira who is coming off a fine 9th place finish in the ARCA race at
\nFairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, TN last week. Young Noah “Little Gator”
\nCornman has his new Super Late ready and will make his first start in that car
\nafter running the opening SLM event in his Pro Late Model. Another driver
\nmaking a return to the Super Late Model ranks will be Cory Spencer of Tavares
\nwho turned a few practice laps last Saturday before the rains came.<\/p>\n

The Sportsman class has seen a lot of cars this year and plenty of action to
\nboot with three different winners in the three events held. Twenty-six cars
\nand 28 different drivers have been in action in the Sportsman division so far
\nthis year. New Hampshire owner\/driver Sandy Lee’s #10 machine has seen three
\ndifferent pilots including opening night winner Michael Seay, Jon Compagnone
\nand Lee himself as he finished third last time out. Lee’s car is one of
\nseveral that race out of the Sheppard Racing Enterprises shop in Deland and
\nthey will be bringing 5-7 cars again this week.<\/p>\n

Junior Beckner of Apopka leads a very tight point race as he is just two
\npoints ahead of Donny Williams and Patrick Thomas (the winner two weeks ago)
\nwho are tied for second. Richard Goodrich is six markers back in fourth and
\nDaniel Conlin, Jr. sits ten points behind Beckner. Other drivers expected
\ninclude George Gorham, Jr., Timmy Todd, Jr., Ron Gustafson, Austin Howell,
\nSteve Barnes and Scott Bramlett who is back after virtually destroying the
\nfront end of his new car on opening night.<\/p>\n

Jerry “The Hammer” Symons has two wins to his credit in three starts and leads
\nthe Modified point standings by 14 over Matthew Green. Matt Wheeler is third
\nin points, 17 markers behind Symons. Expect a good field this week that
\nshould also include Alan Bruns, Tank Tucker, Ricky Moxley, Matt Jarrett and
\nothers including St. Augustine’s Joe Jacalone who will be running a Modified
\nfor the first time after competing here before in the Super Late Models.
\nShane Sutorus continues to lead the Bomber point standings by 13 over James
