(June 8, 2015) – Rob Fuller Motorsports and 15-40 Connection will make their second appearance in the 2015 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) on Wednesday, June 10 at the Mr. Rooter 125 at the Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. Drivers Corey LaJoie and Ron Silk both plan to improve upon their Icebreaker 150 finishes from earlier this season.

LaJoie and Silk will once again pilot the No. 15 and No. 40 to promote the 15-40 Connection mission to raise awareness of the important role everyone has in detecting cancer early. With Father’s Day coming up on June 21st, 15-40 Connection would like to help race fans share the lifesaving gift of early cancer detection.

“Ask the men in your life if they would recognize a cancer symptom. Let them know that the most common cancer symptom is a subtle and persistent change in your normal health lasting two weeks or more,” said 15-40 Connection Executive Director, Tricia Laursen. “These are health changes that should be brought to a doctor’s attention. Detecting cancer early can make cancer treatment more effective and improve survival rates.

“We are driving a new cancer conversation by spreading awareness of early cancer detection and how it can improve and save lives. Rob Fuller Motorsports is helping us do this, and we wish Ron and Corey all the best in the Mr. Rooter 125.”

It’s been a few weeks since the No. 15 and No. 40 modifieds were on the track and team owner Rob Fuller is excited to return to Thompson Speedway this week.

“It will be a great feeling getting back to racing with my RFM team and 15-40 Connection,” said Fuller. “With the amount of activity going on at the LFR shop and with Draco Springs, it’s nice to get away and spend a day at the track. Things couldn’t be going better these days and I hope to carry that momentum into Thompson. We have a great team and I have high expectations for the return to my home track.”

Coming into the race weekend, Silk looks to build on his Icebreaker 150 run, as the Norwalk, Connecticut native led 23 laps of the race before securing a ninth place finish. The 2011 NWMT Champion has a long history of success at Thompson Speedway to lean on, as he has collected four wins, 16 Top-5 and 25 Top-10 finishes in 38 starts there.

“I believe we will have an even stronger run this time at Thompson Speedway. We had a solid car during the Icebreaker and should have gotten a better finish than the one we ended up with,” said Silk. “We just waited a little bit too long to pit during the last part of that race, so if we avoid that we should pick up a couple more spots and contend for the win.”

On the other hand, LaJoie is hoping to see a big change in his race this time around. During the Icebreaker 150, the Concord, North Carolina native had early contact in the race and was sent into the pits to repair damage on the car and was relegated to a 28th place finish. LaJoie knows how to find his way around the track in the modified series, as he won his debut race in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2010.

“The 15-40 Connection team and I are ready to return to Thompson Speedway. We are changing a few things during the preparation for this time that we noticed during our first run there,” said LaJoie. “Mainly we are focusing on finding more speed because Doug Coby had the entire field beat pretty good on that. We know where we were struggling the most during the last race, so we know what to address this time around and we should have a solid run this time.”

Corey LaJoie and Ron Silk Represent 15-40 Connection in the Mr. Rooter 125 SHREWSBURY, Mass.
