WEEKLY NASCAR RACING STARTS THURSDAY AT THOMPSON<\/p>\n
THOMPSON, CT Thursday Night Thompson Thunder will rumble once again
\nbeginning Thursday, May 21st at the historic Thompson International
\nSpeedway. The weekly Thursday Night Thompson Thunder (TNTT) series has
\nbecome hugely popular with area race fans due to the exciting
\nsix-divisions of competition and the fast pace with which the race
\nprogram is run. Racers and race fans have been waiting for the weekly
\nNASCAR competition to begin at Thompson ever since the speedway?s
\nIcebreaker event was run in April.<\/p>\n
Thompson?s TNTT series plays host to some of NASCAR?s best
\nand brightest racing talent each week. The racing action is superb in
\neach of the NASCAR Whelen All American Series divisions. The Sunoco
\nModifieds top the list with a line up of drivers second to none.
\nNASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion, Ted Christopher, will join the
\nweekly program and will compete against outstanding drivers like Kerry
\nMalone, Keith Rocco, Todd Ceravolo, Woody Pitkat, Bert Marvin, Jimmy
\nBlewett, Tom Cravenho, Jr., and many more. On any give night, as many
\nas a dozen drivers in this division are potential winners.<\/p>\n
The Super Late Model division brings its own brand of
\nexcitement. These incredibly fast race cars attract many of the
\nregion?s best Super Late Model race teams. The roster of long-time
\n?hot shoes? is impressive to say the least. But, the division also has
\nsome impressive young drivers who have brought a lot of interest and
\nnew excitement to this storied division. One of those young drivers,
\nDerek Ramstrom, became a three-time winner in 2008 while attending his
\nsophomore year in high school. Ramstrom has an exciting driving style
\nand he has developed a big and enthusiastic fan following. He is
\nexpected to be a threat to win each and every Thursday night.<\/p>\n
The Thompson Modifieds, Late Models, Limited Sportsman and
\nMini Stocks round out the impressive TNTT line up. Each of these
\ndivisions has a roster of excellent drivers and the competition is
\nexceptional every time they take to the high banked, super fast oval.<\/p>\n
The TNTT schedule is filled with special events for the
\n2009 racing season. Yet, these events are family priced. Most events
\non the TNTT schedule are priced between fifteen and eighteen dollars
\nfor adults and only five dollars for youngsters ages 6-14. Kids five
\nyears and under are always free. With many families watching their
\nbudgets, a night at the races is not only an exciting night out, but
