Oxford, Maine \u2013 Curtis Gerry of Waterboro raced to his first-ever Oxford Plains Speedway Super Late Model victory Friday<\/span> night, leading the entire 50-lap distance to become the eleventh different winner in eleven Budweiser Championship Series events this season.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Gerry\u2019s closest rival as he raced under the checkered flag was Oxford Super Late Model rookie Josh Childs, scoring a career-best second-place finish in the top class after winning the Street Stock championship last year.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Scott Robbins of Dixfield got the final trophy after starting ninth in a race slowed only by an early caution period.\u00a0 Fourth-place Glen Luce of Turner ran out of time, closing on the frontrunners after starting fourteenth.\u00a0 Jay\u2019s Dave Farrington, Jr. rounded out the top five.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Matt Dufault of Turner used a three-wide move to claim a lead that ultimately led to victory in the 30-lap feature race for Allen\u2019s Coffee Flavored Brandy Street Stocks.\u00a0 It was Dufault\u2019s third straight win in points counting races, and fourth consecutive victory at the track driving the Rodney Williams 61, including a North East Street Stock Tour victory.\u00a0 Dufault started the raced from 12th<\/sup> position.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Calvin Rose, Jr., also from Turner, mounted a serious challenge to Dufault\u2019s streak late in the race until something went awry, but his runner-up finish was unofficially enough to hold on to a slight advantage in the championship battle over Dufault.\u00a0 Zach Emerson of Sabattus picked up another third-place trophy.\u00a0 Oxford\u2019s Kim Tripp led the early stages of the race en route to a fourth-place finish.\u00a0\u00a0 Sabattus teenager Jonathan Emerson rounded out the top five.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jacob Hall of Oxford scored his first victory of the season in the 20-lap main event for MacDonald Motors of Bridgton Bandits division competitors.\u00a0 Turner\u2019s Tyler Green cruised to a second-place finish, just in front of Waterford\u2019s hard-charging Jamie Heath, who was fourteenth on the starting grid.\u00a0\u00a0 Joshua Knoll of Mechanic Falls and New Gloucester\u2019s Caleb Emerson-Mains rounded out the top five.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Oxford Plains Speedway Figure 8 Legend David Smith of South Paris raced to his second victory of the season in the 15-lap race for the Ariens \/ Gravely \/ Dave\u2019s Small Engine class.\u00a0 Smith outran reigning champion and current points leader Jon Lizotte of Lewiston to the checkered flag.\u00a0 Minot\u2019s Eric Hodgkins stayed close in the title chase with a third-place run.\u00a0 Lisbon\u2019s Robert Morey and Greg Durgin of South Paris rounded out the top five.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Budweiser Championship Series at Oxford Plains Speedway resumes on Saturday, July 23<\/span> with NAPA Auto Parts presenting the annual on-track meet and greet with drivers and their cars.\u00a0 Oxford Plains Speedway is located at 877 Main Street (State Route 26) in Oxford, Maine.\u00a0 For more information please visit oxfordplains.com<\/a> or call (207) 539-8865<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Unofficial results from Fan Appreciation Night at Oxford Plains Speedway for the Budweiser Championship Series on Friday, July 8 showing finishing position, car number, driver\u2019s name, driver\u2019s hometown.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n SUPER LATE MODEL (50 laps) 1 7 Curtis Gerry, Waterboro;
