Fogleman cam home second after starting 21st and series point leader Ryan Blaney earned third. Cassius Clark, Jeff Choquette, Joey Gase, Chase Elliott, Ben Rowe, Heath Hindman and Clay Jones completed the top ten.

Over 50 super late models crowded the Hickory pits with 49 answering the call for time trials and home track hero and two time track champion Andy Loden topped the field with a 14.902 lap, nipping Cassius Clark’s 14.904 for fast time. Loden would start the event from 8th after the top ten redraw. Chase Elliott drew the pole with Cassius Clark alongside. PASS National point leader Brad Leighton, four time PASS North Champion Ben Rowe, Steve Legendre and George Gorham were all forced to take provisional starting spots.

Clark grabbed the lead from Elliott at the drop of the green and tried to drive away from the field but a rash of cautions cancelled out his efforts each time. Colt James challenged Clark on each restart and made the outside groove work to take the point on lap 18. Clark and James swapped the lead several times during the first 50 laps; but Ryan Blaney had worked his way up from eighth to third and snatched the second spot from James at lap 65. Blaney made his move on Clark on lap eighty three. Clark reclaimed the lead from laps 96 through 107 but Blaney battled back to the point on lap 108 with Fogleman now second. It was a battle of youth and experience up front and with 18 to go Fogleman put his ride out front with B laney hot on his heels.

Preston Peltier was lurking in third now, saving his equipment and preparing to mount his challenge. Peltier set sail on the outside and drove around both Blaney and Fogleman, building a five car length lead at the checker for the $5,000.00 victory.

Consolation round wins went to Fogleman, Jeff Choquette, and Ryan Moore. Lonnie Sommerville earned his way into the feature by winning the Last Chance Qualifier. Thirteen cars completed all 150 green flag laps.

PASS South heads for Rougemont North Carolina’s Orange County Speedway for the Orange Blossom Special on Saturday April 23rd.
