It looks like we’ll have racing legend Boss Hog around for the rest of 2010 as he takes the checkered flag in the Steel’s Real Rods & Customs Late Model Sportsman feature.

The LMS feature was an exciting race with Buxton’s Danny Smart leading most of the way. Boss Hog in the #14 car kept trying the outside line but was held off by the #6. Lots of door to door racing for the lead on Sunday! There were also great battles in the pack with Rowland “Rockin’” Robinson, Nick Hinkley and Josh St. Clair all fighting for a top spot. Then one of those tough moments in racing, the #6 car was pulling away on the front stretch when the back end got loose and put Danny Smart into a slide. Boss Hog pulled into the lead and kept it to the checkered flag. Danny Smart in the #6 car had a nice recovery and battled back into the top 5.

The Twisted Tea Mini-Stocks also put on a great show Sunday with long time Wiscasset racer Pete McCollet finally taking the Aable Auto Parts Green Flag. After a tough practice and opening Sunday when the #20 car couldn’t get on the track, Pete and Robbie Greenleaf in the #2 car had quite a contest. The real story of the Mini Stocks this week though was the second consecutive win for Wiscasset’s own Thomas True. This youngster is making the Shady Lane gang proud with his early dominance of the Twisted Tea Mini-Stock division!

Thanks to the Oxford Outlaws that showed up to race in Wiscasset this week with Chris Burgess of Buckfield taking the feature win. The Maine Mods came to Wiscasset and Tyler King got the win. Larry Emerson of Durham is on top of the New England Strictly Streets and Mike St. Germain of Auburn who has been called “the hardest working man in Maine racing” took the Knox Brothers Carquest 4cyl Enduro division. Adam Chadbourne of Wooolwich got the U.S. Cellular Super Street win in the #1 car.

Next week at The Center of Speed, we’ll run all of our Enduro classes at once! Bring your 4cyl, your 6cyl or your Minivan to race this Sunday, June 6th. We’ll also present our Operation Rescue “Salute to the Troops!” This Sunday at 2pm.
