{"id":2457,"date":"2010-06-07T06:17:52","date_gmt":"2010-06-07T11:17:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/?p=9076"},"modified":"2010-06-07T06:17:52","modified_gmt":"2010-06-07T11:17:52","slug":"patriotssox-tickets-to-benefit-ricky%e2%80%99s-race-for-kids-at-canaan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/2010\/06\/patriotssox-tickets-to-benefit-ricky%e2%80%99s-race-for-kids-at-canaan\/","title":{"rendered":"Patriots\/Sox Tickets to Benefit Ricky\u2019s Race for Kids at Canaan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Patriots\/Sox Tickets to Benefit Ricky\u2019s Race for Kids at Canaan <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Canaan, N.H. &#8212; With the 3rd annual Ricky\u2019s Race for Kids to benefit David\u2019s House happening next month, those responsible for the event, in honor of the late Ricky Miller,<\/p>\n<p>are hard at work preparing for the annual fundraiser.  <\/p>\n<p>A racing accident left Miller with a severe concussion which ultimately led to his passing in 2004, at the age of 34.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nMiller\u2019s father, retired New England racing great, Donnie,\u201cThe Golden Jet\u201d Miller, said,  \u201c Losing a child is life\u2019s ultimate tragedy, but having this racing event each year, raising money for David\u2019s House, with 100% of the money raised going to such a worthwhile cause, puts a positive aspect on such a tragic event for our family.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>David&#8217;s House, located in Lebanon, NH., provides a home-away-from-home and support for families with children receiving treatment through Children\u2019s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.   <\/p>\n<p>Last year, the Miller family presented David\u2019s House a check for $10,012, and this year the family hopes to do the same, if not better.   <\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s event will feature a spectacular raffle including ticket packages to New England Patriots, and Boston Red Sox games, and New Hampshire Motor Speedway. <\/p>\n<p>The first prize will feature four 50 yard line seats to the Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts game, November 21, at Foxboro, MA. The package will include VIP parking and pre-game party, a buffet, and an opportunity to meet Patriots cheerleaders. Second prize will be four box seats to a Red Sox vs. New York Yankees game at Fenway Park, Boston, MA., and third prize, four tickets to the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Loudon, NH., September 20. <\/p>\n<p>Something new this year will be Ricky\u2019s Raffle for the Racers!  First Prize &#8211; Set of 4 MRS Hoosier Tires donated by Hoosier Tire East, 2nd Prize &#8211; 55 Gallon Drum of Sunoco Race Fuel donated by Sunoco.    <\/p>\n<p>$1,000 cash drawing will be given away to some lucky fan by the Miller family on race day as part of the fundraiser. <\/p>\n<p> On July 23, a pre-race party will be held at Gateway Motors, White River Junction, VT.,<\/p>\n<p>including ticket giveaways, race cars and antique cars on display, and a live broadcast from 4-7 PM on radio station, KIXX-FM 100.5.<\/p>\n<p>The special 112 lap race at Canaan marks the return of the Modified Racing Series, sponsored by Bob Valenti Auto Mall.com, to the Upper Valley speedway.
