KEITH ROCCO SET TO DEFEND TITLE IN 37TH ANNUAL COORS LIGHT SK MODIFIED\u00ae 100 AT STAFFORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY<\/strong><\/p>\n

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford\u2019s SK Modified\u00ae division takes to the track
\nfor the first of two extra distance events of the 2010 season with the 37th
\nAnnual Coors Light SK Modified\u00ae 100 on June 11. Keith Rocco has been the
\nman to beat in the SK Modified\u00ae division thus far in 2010 at Stafford,
\nwinning three of the first five races. Rocco outlasted Stafford\u2019s all-time
\nwinningest driver Ted Christopher in a duel for the ages in last year\u2019s
\nCoors Light SK Modified\u00ae 100, swapping the lead no less than 5 times over
\nthe final 35 laps of the race, and he looks to once again reign supreme in
\nthe extra distance classic.
\n\u201cI really like the extra distance races,\u201d said Rocco. \u201cWe have a really
\ngood car for the extra distance races and last year was one of the best
\nraces I\u2019ve ever had racing with Ted [Christopher]. I had a lot of fun
\nracing with Ted last year and hopefully he has a good car and we can put on
\nanother good show.\u201d
\nWith third place finishes in the Coors Light SK Modified\u00ae 100 and the
\nCARQUEST SK\u00ae150 in 2008 and his win in last year\u2019s Coors Light SK Modified\u00ae
\n100, Rocco certainly knows what it takes to have his car in contention for
\nthe longer races and he expects to once again be a contender for the
\ncheckered flag at the end of the race.
\n\u201cThere\u2019s not much different we do in preparing for the extra distance
\nevents, just make sure there\u2019s plenty of fuel in the car and the fluids in
\nthe car are all fresh,\u201d said Rocco. \u201cI like to get to the front as quick as
\npossible because that\u2019s the safest place to be on the track. Plus, once you
\nget into the top-5 you can conserve a bit and not kill the car so that you
\nhave something left for the end of the race. It takes a good combination of
\nbalance and having everything right on the car and when you have a good car
\nyou don\u2019t have to overdrive the car. With the longer races, it\u2019s all about
\nbeing there at the end of the race. We have an awesome car on long green
\nflag runs and if we don\u2019t abuse the car during the race then there\u2019s no
\nreason why we shouldn\u2019t be in contention again this year.\u201d
\nRocco will have plenty of competition for the checkered flag in the field
\nfor this year\u2019s Coors Light SK Modified\u00ae 100. Former Stafford SK Modified\u00ae
\nextra distance feature winners that will join Rocco in this year\u2019s field
\ninclude Eric Berndt, Ted Christopher, Todd Owen, Woody Pitkat, and Frank
\nRuocco.
\nTickets for the 37th Annual Coors Light SK Modified\u00ae 100 are on sale now at
\nthe Speedway Box Office. Tickets are priced at $18.00 for adult general
\nadmission tickets, $5.00 for children ages 6-14, and children ages 5 and
\nunder are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Reserved
\nseating is priced at $20.00 for all ages. As always, Stafford Motor
\nSpeedway offers free parking with overnight parking available.
