It’s been a rough go for Polewarczyk through the first two events of the year, including a DNQ at Oxford Plains Speedway in May, but he’s hoping to rebound at one of his best tracks on the circuit. Our bad luck has just been out of control lately. The last ACT race (at Oxford), we didn’t qualify, and the last race we went to (a weekly event at Lee USA Speedway on May 28) we ended up wrecked. Right now, I’m looking for anything good. Let’s make the race, and run well — and it will be better than anything we’ve done so far.

Seriously, though, Lee’s been a really good track for us. It’s where I grew up racing, so I’m excited to go back. We found some problems with the engine (after Oxford) and we got those problems fixed, but we’re still going into this race with a lot of unknowns.

Everything’s just new for us this year. We’ve had our problems, for sure, and we’ve had our bad luck. Taking all that into consideration, we’re not at the point where you can go to the race track and say, ‘We’re going here to win.’ Even though I feel like I can, like our team can, and our car can go out and compete for wins, we still have to go with the right mindset and just try and get a good finish to get this thing turned around.

It’s crazy to think that this is only the third race of the year. We’ve had so much bad luck, but then we’ve only had two races. There’s still a long way to go.

EVEN THOUGH YOU WERE INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT AT LEE IN THE HEAT RACE, DID YOU LEARN ANYTHING FROM THE TRACK TIME YOU GOT IN PRACTICE?

The car definitely seemed better than it had been. It seemed more consistent. I was pleased with that. We had a few setup issues we were working on, and we felt we were gaining on it. We had a decent car, and we were running with guys that run up front there every week. I think we would have been even better on a long run, which is what you’ll need this weekend.

It’s all about heat races and qualifying. It just seems so tough to qualify this year — the competition level is really high. It seems like you can have best car on lap 60, but if you don’t make the race, lap 60 doesn’t matter.

Joey Polewarczyk Jr.: ACT Late Model Tour Lee USA Speedway Race Preview Joey Polewarczyk Jr. will try and earn Ford Racing its first ACT Late Model Tour victory when he heads to the NH Governor’s Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H., on Friday, June 11 — the first night race of the […]

[55,190,126,112

post-2480","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-act","category-lee-usa-new-hampshire","category-new-england","category-new-hampshire
["GET
