Although he is a candidate for the 2010 Rookie-of-the-Year program, the youngest Shaw got his feet wet in the series last season starting both races at the ‘Magic Mile’. Entering the June 25 New England 125, DJ is more confident than ever. He is currently eighth in the K&N Pro Series East point standings with one top-five and three top-10 finishes in only four starts.

“NHMS drives like a short-track,” explained Shaw, of nearby Center Conway, N.H. “It’s the only track I’ve actually driven these cars on before so I’m really excited to be going there. I’ll have a comfort level there that I haven’t had yet this season going into a race.”

Shaw’s list of accomplishments include the 2008 Pro All Star Series (PASS) rookie-of-the-year title with two wins, which made him the first rookie to win in series history. In 2009, Shaw competed in the PASS North and South, the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and made his debut in the K&N Pro Series East. He has also competed in the ASA Late Model Series.

Shaw recently enlisted Clinton Cram to serve as the crew chief on the No. 60 Precision JLM Chevrolet owned by Julio Miglioli. Cram brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team having worked most recently as a truck chief for Kyle Busch Motorsports.

“We had speed right out of the box at Martinsville and we seem to be working pretty well together,” said Shaw about his new crew chief.

The New England 125 takes the green flag at 5 p.m. eastern time on Friday, June 25 with practice and qualifying taking place on June 24.

“We had a 21st place finish the last time we were there, but I had to stop for a wreck and I had no clutch. When I stopped the car stalled and I lost a lap waiting for a push truck. We had been running in the top-10 all day so that finish really doesn’t tell the whole story. I think we’ll be good for this race.”

Shaw Looks To Home Advantage For Momentum Center Conway, N.H.: DJ Shaw is no stranger to New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
