ROB SUMMERS TEAMING WITH HOLBROOK RACING FOR CARQUEST EXTREME TUESDAY EVENT
\nAT STAFFORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY<\/strong><\/p>\n

(Stafford Springs, CT)—The stars and cars of the ISMA Supermodified
\ndivision return to Stafford Motor Speedway on Tuesday, July 6th for the 7th
\nAnnual CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday. Chris Perley has been the dominant driver
\nat Stafford, winning 4 of the 6 CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday events, but one
\ndriver who will look to end Perley\u2019s dominance in the 50-lap ISMA
\nSupermodified event will be Rob Summers.
\nSummers was the winner of the 2007 CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday event and he
\ncomes to Stafford this season driving for owner Jeff Holbrook as a teammate
\nto Russ Wood, the 2005 CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday winner. In the 6 previous
\nCARQUEST Extreme Tuesday events, Summers and Wood are the only other drivers
\nto win at Stafford besides Perley and Summers likes his chances of having
\nanother successful night at Stafford.
\n\u201cWe have as good a shot as any of the top-5 guys in the division,\u201d said
\nSummers. \u201cThe Holbrook team is an awesome team and they have great cars. I
\ndrove their car at Waterford and it was like driving a Cadillac. Russ Wood
\nhas been racing with Jeff Holbrook for so long now, they have great notes to
\nwork with and they\u2019re one of the best teams out there.\u201d
\nSummers knows how to get around the Stafford half-mile layout quite well.
\nIn his career, he has won 4 Whelen Modified Tour Pole Positions at Stafford
\nalong with winning the 2007 CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday ISMA Supermodifeid
\nfeature event and the 2008 SK Modified\u00ae feature at the CARQEUST Tech-Net
\nSpring Sizzler. But with all his Stafford success, Summers doesn\u2019t think
\nthat will automatically translate into a good run for the ISMA Supermodified
\nportion of CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday.
\n\u201cThere\u2019s guys in the ISMA Supermodified division like Chris Perley, Dave
\nShullick, Mike Lichty, and my teammate Russ Wood, they\u2019re good everywhere
\nthey go, so I don\u2019t know how much of an advantage I\u2019ll have,\u201d said Summers.
\n\u201cI think the race will come down to if we can hit the setup and if I hit my
\nmarks. If we can do that, I think we can have a real good night.\u201d
\nJoining the ISMA Supermodifieds on the CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday card will be
\nthe NEMA Midgets and the Pro-4 Modifieds. Nokie Fornoro is the defending
\nNEMA Midget feature winner and Norm Wrenn is the defending champion of the
\nPro-4 Modified feature.
\nThe ISMA Supermodified feature will be 50-laps, the NEMA Midget feature will
\nbe 30-laps, and the Pro-4 Modified feature will be 25-laps. Spectator gates
\nopen at 4:15pm, qualifying races begin at 5:45pm, and feature events begin
\nat 7:30pm.
\nTickets for the 7th Annual CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday are available and on
\nsale now at the Stafford Motor Speedway box office. Tickets are priced at
\n$30.00 for adult general admission, and children ages 6-14 are only $5.00.
\nChildren ages 5 and under are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an
\nadult. Reserved seating is $32.00. Stafford Motor Speedway offers free
\nparking with overnight parking available. The first 100 fans through the
\ngates will receive a free reusable bag courtesy of CARQUEST Auto Parts.
