THIRD-GENERATION RACER STEPHEN DADDIO DRIVES TO FIRST CAREER VICTORY AT
\nSTAFFORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY<\/strong><\/p>\n

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Combine 9 years of go-kart experience with a
\ncollege degree in Mechanical Engineering, lots of hard work, and bake at 85
\ndegrees for 5 hours. Is this a recipe for success? It certainly was the
\nright combination for Steve Daddio last Friday night as he drove his #99
\nGetInsuredCT.com Chevrolet into CARQUEST Victory Lane for the first time
\never at Stafford Motor Speedway.
\n\u201cUnbelievable, overwhelming, just no words for it,\u201d was Steve\u2019s description
\nof his feelings in CARQUEST Victory Lane. While getting caught up in the
\nexcitement of his first ever victory however; Steve forgot to mention
\nseveral folks as he was giving his victory lane interview on the track\u2019s
\nP.A. system. \u201cI forgot to thank everyone, especially my Dad who works on
\nthe car day in and day out, my family, my sponsors, Butchy, Bobby, and my
\nengine builder Paul.\u201d
\nRacing roots are deep in the Daddio family. Steve\u2019s grandfather owned a car
\nat Danbury RaceArena and then the Daddio family made the move to Stafford
\nSpeedway, where Steve\u2019s father, Scott, ran a late model full time during the
\n1982 and 1983 seasons with a few starts in 1985. He finished fifth in the
\nfinal point standings in 1983.
\n\u201cI\u2019ve been waiting a long time to stand in victory lane!\u201d said Scott. Even
\nthough the win belonged to his son, you could hear the unmistakable
\nexcitement in his voice that comes along with the pride that he has in his
\nson for his accomplishment.
\n Steve raced 5 shows during the 2009 season without much success in the DARE
\nStock division. Lots of hard work over the winter prepared the car for this
\nseason. After only 9 starts and a previous best finish of 4th place this
\nseason, the #99 sat in Victory Lane last Friday. Daddio began last Friday
\nnight\u2019s feature event in the 6th position and he found himself in the lead
\nwhen he passed Nick Salva on a lap-6 restart.
\n\u201cI was on the outside of Nick Salva #72 and I knew that I wanted to go for
\nthe lead,\u201d said Daddio. \u201cI was just hoping that the car would stick.\u201d
\nOnce Daddio finished the pass on Salva, he was left wondering how he made
\nthe pass and with his first win under his belt, he has his sights set on
\nrecording another win before the season ends.
\n\u201cI said to myself, \u2018how did that just happen?\u201d said Daddio. \u201cWe expect to
\nwin again and it would be nice to be able to start in the back of the field
\nand win from there. I\u2019ve learned a lot this year and the car is really
\ndialed in right now.\u201d
\n Daddio and his team are looking ahead to the rest of the year at Stafford,
\nespecially the Fall Final, and he one day dreams of driving in Stafford\u2019s
\npremier division, the SK Modifieds\u00ae, although he added that he might like to
\ndrive an SK Light as well.
\n\u201cThe SK Light division at Stafford is the most competitive division that I\u2019
\nve ever seen\u201d, said Steve.
\n Steve loves to race and he may one day join the young guns of Stafford\u2019s SK
\nLight Modified division. Like his father Scott said, \u201cWhen you want to race
\nwith the best, it\u2019s here at Stafford.\u201d
