Sprinters Return to Big Daddy\u2019s Speedbowl<\/strong>
\nIt was a great week at Daddy’s Speedbowl in Wentworth, NH sponsored by
\nMike’s Automotive of Tilton, NH. In addition to the regular weekly
\ndivisions, the mighty Sprint Cars of New England (SCoNE) made their
\n3rd appearance of the season.
\n
\nThe Camaro Heaven Bandit division was the first on the track, and
\ntheir feature event was a real barn-burner. There seemed to be a jinx
\non first position, as Marcus Jenness (19) and Scott Blake (21) both
\nfell back with engine problems. Blake got running again and managed a
\nsecond-place finish, but it was Kurt Whiting (33) in a car borrowed
\nfrom his teammate and father Robert that took home the checkers. Bill
\nMcKee (01) finished third.<\/p>\n

The sprint cars of SCoNE went out next and the field featured some
\nformer stars of our Modified division. Donnie Sharp, Jr. (28) led the
\nearly laps, but a spinout sent him to the rear of the field. That
\nopened things up for former Modified champ Dan Douville (7X) to charge
\nto the front. Nick Berry (12) hung on for second, with Shawn Lawler
\n(18L) third.<\/p>\n

OE Parts Direct Mini-Stock driver Josh Sunn (11) continued his
\ndominate ways. He runs three tracks on consecutive nights: Canaan NH,
\nBradford VT, and finishing up at Big Daddy’s. Josh\u2019s feature win made
\nit three feature wins in a row, for two consecutive weeks. Matt
\nMorrill (9) and Billy Bernard (14) rounded out the top three.<\/p>\n

“Racin'” Jason Sanville (96) won his second Mid State Trucking
\nModified feature in a row. Trevor Rocke (63) was second, followed by
\nRyan Avery (01).<\/p>\n

Ray Johnson (79) took the main event for the Cutting Edge
\nGraphix\/Keyser Trucking Super Streets, followed by Mark Brown (47) and
\nJim Travis (17).<\/p>\n

Jamie Bezanson (13 1\/2) broke Brad Shanks’ (8) streak of Mike’s
\nAutomotive Late Model feature wins. Will Hull (61) and “Dangerous” Dan
\nCollins (4) took second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n

Super Street driver Derek O’Hearn (14) was the featured driver for the
\nKid’s Club. Chief Starter and Educational Director Ray Moses announced
\nthat the word of the week was “G’zinta,” as in “Anyone who breaks the
\nrules g’zinta the pit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Big Daddy\u2019s has made some excited additions to its 2010 schedule. On
\nAugust 1 we are running a 4\/6 Cylinder Enduro and a $500-to-win Late
\nModel Blowout sponsored by Central Metal Recycling of Rumney. NH. On
\nAugust 15 we are having Bike Races for the Kids with trophies going to
\nthe top three in each age group. The month ends with another 4\/6
\nCylinder Enduro on August 29 coupled with a Driver Appreciation event
\nwhere fans can meet their favorite drivers and collect autographs.<\/p>\n

This coming week, July 25th, the motorcycle-engined Granite State Mini
\nSprints return along with the Big Daddy\u2019s regular divisions.<\/p>\n

Big Baddy\u2019s Speedbowl is a family orientated racing facility featuring
\na D-shaped, 1\/4 mile, clay oval. Grandstand admission is only $10 for
\nan adult with a family package of $25. Pit admission is $25.<\/p>\n

The gates at Big Daddy\u2019s open at 12 noon, the driver\u2019s meeting starts
\nat3:30, and the first race goes off at 4:00pm sharp. The track is
\nlocated on the Rumney\/Wentworth town line on NH Rte. 25. Check the
