{"id":3004,"date":"2010-08-09T05:47:53","date_gmt":"2010-08-09T10:47:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/?p=9076"},"modified":"2010-08-09T05:47:53","modified_gmt":"2010-08-09T10:47:53","slug":"bourques-and-landry-record-grand-slams-at-cfs-on-saturday-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/2010\/08\/bourques-and-landry-record-grand-slams-at-cfs-on-saturday-night\/","title":{"rendered":"BOURQUES AND LANDRY RECORD GRAND SLAMS AT CFS ON SATURDAY NIGHT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BOURQUES AND LANDRY RECORD GRAND SLAMS<\/p>\n<p>AT CFS ON SATURDAY NIGHT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Shediac, N.B.)  &#8212; Dan Bourque, Scott Bourque and Martin Landry all recorded grand slams Saturday night during stock car racing action at the Centre for Speed (CFS), Atlantic Canada\u2019s Super Speedway and \u201cMetro Moncton\u2019s Playground of Power\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In Super Sportsman action, the 2009 defending CFS points champion finally put it all together after many hours of work during the week to get his NAPA Auto Parts Grand Prix ready for Saturday evening\u2019s racing program. Dan Bourque (#15) of Grande Digue won all three races in convincing fashion, picking up first place honours in the 10-lap heat, semi-final and 25-lap feature \u2013 his first feature win of 2010. In the main event, Bourque crossed the line ahead of the division\u2019s current points leader, Craig Ward (#02) of Riverview and rookie sensation Matt Rodgers (#42) of Smithtown.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It was a similar story in both four-cylinder divisions as mini stock points leader Martin Landry (#00) of Grand Barachois and Four Fun division points leader Scott Bourque (#69) of Cap-Pel\u00e9 also recorded grand slams with wins in their heat, semi-final and 35-lap features. Landry took advantage of a lap #25 restart to move outside and around leader Mike Edwards (#23) of Riverview and then held off Edwards for his fourth feature win of the season, while Daniel Gautreau (#20) of Shediac was third. As for Scott Bourque, he picked up his second Four Fun feature win of the season crossing the stripe ahead of Eugene Weagle (#60) of Petitcodiac and Phil Coombes (#15) of Shediac Cape to go along with his<br \/>\n earlier wins in the heat and semi.<\/p>\n<p>In Streetstock action, Tim Layton (#6) Hillsborough gained some valuable ground on division points leader Don Marcoux (#27) of St. Louis de Kent by capturing his third feature win of the season to a go along with a win in the 10-lap semi final and a second place finish in the heat. Marcoux did however keep pace by placing third in both the heat and semi and second in the feature. Tyler Rossiter (#14) of Weldon crossed the stripe first in the heat while Doug MacEwen (#40) of Charlottetown was third in the feature.<\/p>\n<p>In the evening\u2019s final event, fans cheered as Marco Cormier (#89) of Haute-Aboujagane was declared the winner of the \u2018burnout competition\u2019 after he literally burned off the rear tires from his 1995 Chevrolet pick-up truck in a thick cloud of blue smoke.<\/p>\n<p>Next Saturday, August 14th at 7:00 p.m., the CENTRE will host the Schneiders Mini Stock 75-lap Invitational along with racing in its three other regular divisions.
