BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS: The action picks up on Saturday, August 14, 2010 when the winged wonders, the NEMA Midgets and the ISMA Supermodifieds, hosts the 3rd annual Wings \u2018n Wheels event at the Waterford Speedbowl.
\nPeter Falconi will be calling the NEMA Midgets and ISMA Supermodified announcer Bobby G will be calling the racing action from flag to flag, as well as, providing post race victory lane celebrations. KC & Brian Hanaford will be producing the LIVE broadcasting and commentary of this event from their Boston studios.
\nTodd Bertrand has picked the right track to make his Northeastern Midget Association debut. Todd, a vital part of the NEMA Lites over the past three years, will be stepping into the family #39 Saturday at Waterford Speedbowl\u2019s Wings and Wheels.
\nA NEMA Lites winner at Waterford in 2008, Bertrand has posted two podiums in \u2018Bowl action this summer. He will be part of a busy pit that includes the #47 of two-time defending champion Randy Cabral and the #75 of Chris deRitis.
\nAnthony Nocella, a frequent winner in the Lites, will be making his second NEMA start in the Seymour car as well.
\nVernon, CT\u2019s Robbie Summers will be looking for a possible second straight ISMA win when he pulls into Waterford Speedbowl on Saturday. Summers, driving his Jeff Holbrook-owned 35 supermodified, cruised to a relatively unchallenged victory at Delaware Speedway in Ontario, Canada last weekend. It was the second career ISMA win for the popular driver who has had success at the \u201cBowl\u201d in the past in the modified ranks. Over his 20+ year racing career, Robbie was the 2005 Waterford SK champ, won the 2006 Stafford Xtreme ISMA show and the 2008 Spring Sizzler SK event. He is in his fourth year of supermodified competition, formerly driving for the Howie Lane team.
\nSummers faces some stiff competition for a second straight win from some formidable opponents in the ISMA ranks. Among them is Lou Cicconi of Aston, PA won the first ISMA event at Waterford in May 2005. He followed that win up with August wins in 2008 and 2009.
\nSecond on the all-Time ISMA win list and current runner-up in ISMA points is Pelham, NH\u2019s Russ Wood, a multi-time ISMA champion, and driver of the Holbrook 29. He has one ISMA win to his credit this season.
\nChris Perley, the Rowley Rocket, isi the only other multiple winner at the Bowl with wins in May 2007 and 2008. Perley, who has cut back on his racing schedule in 2010 due to his Perley Marina business, will certainly be a contender for at least a podium finish Saturday, if not a third win. Fremont, NH\u2019s Mike Ordway Sr., driving the Vic Miller 1 full time this season, has two wins to his credit, also coming off a Canadian victory last Friday, and sits fourth in the current ISMA point standings.
\nCurrent ISMA point leader Mike Lichty of Innerkip, Ontario, won his first career ISMA victory at Waterford in May and has been on a roll of late, finishing with two top three finishes at Delaware Speedway last weekend. He\u2019s had a very consistent season, finishing all eight events in the top five including the one feature win.
\nThe only other two drivers who have won in Waterford competition since the inaugural event are Justin Belfiore and Dave Shullick Jr., who will both be looking to pick up a second win at the Bowl. Shullick has one win this season which came at Sandusky Speedway in late July.
\nOthers in the top ten in current points looking for a possible victory are New Englanders Ben Seitz, of NEMA midget fame, Jeff Locke, Dan Lane, and Dave Duggan. It all happens at Wings and Wheels at Waterford Speedbowl, Saturday.
