For every dollar that
Christopher contributes to the Race To The Finish To Beat Breast Cancer,
Stafford Motor Speedway will match Christopher’s total. Christopher’s total
stands at $1,495 after he recorded his first SK Modified® feature victory of
the 2010 season two weeks ago, meaning that along with Stafford Motor
Speedway he has raised nearly $3,000 for breast cancer research.
Christopher has set up an account at Farmington Savings Bank in Plainville
for fans to donate to the Race to the Finish to Beat Breast Cancer. Fans
can either make a donation in person, or they can send their donation in by
mail to Farmington Savings Bank, 117 East Street, Plainville, CT 06062.
“We’ve had a great response so far,” said Christopher. “It’s been great to
have Mark and Lisa and Stafford involved with matching the wins and laps.
Dale Nelson is going to match my win total, and I’ve had several fans who
have offered donations. We’ve raised over $3,000 so far this year and
hopefully we can win some more races before the year is out and we can have
a nice big check to present at the Fall Final.”
The Inaugural Shark Cycle this Friday night at Stafford offers Christopher a
great chance to add to his total. Christopher will compete in both the
100-lap Modified Racing Series feature and the 40-lap SK Modified® feature.
In addition, the season ending CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend on Oct. 1st-Oct.
3rd will present another great opportunity for Christopher and Stafford
Speedway to add to the total as Christopher will partake in both the 150-lap
Whelen Modified Tour feature and the 40-lap SK Modified® feature.
“I’m really looking forward to the last couple of races of the season,” said
Christopher. “We had a new car a couple weeks ago when we won and anytime
you have a new car, there is lots of stuff that you can improve on after
your first time out with the car. I was disappointed that the race got
canceled last week because I was hoping to win these last couple of races
and raise some more money. The past couple of years we usually win a lot at
Stafford and it figures that the one time I set something up to try to help
raise money for a cause, we’ve struggled to win this year. I really wish
that we could have won more than we have this year, but we have a couple of
races left this year and we have a really good car, so we’ll try to win
those races.”
All the money that Christopher raises is spread among several hospitals
throughout Connecticut, keeping the donations local. With the two races on
his schedule this Friday night, Christopher is keen to add to his total by
winning the SK Modified® and Modified Racing Series feature events.
“Stafford would be a great track for me to get my first Modified Racing
Series victory at,” said Christopher. “We were second at Thompson and we’ve
been close to winning before. I think that I’ll have an advantage over the
guys who have never raced at Stafford before, maybe I’ll have to show them
what the bottom shot is all about. We’ll definitely have a smile on our
face if we are able to win that race.”
For more information, contact the Stafford Motor Speedway track office at
860-684-2783 or visit us on the web at www.staffordspeedway.com

STAFFORD SPEEDWAY KICKING IN BIG ASSIST TO TED CHRISTOPHER’S “RACE TO THE FINISH TO BEAT BREAST CANCER” (Stafford Springs, CT)—During the 2010 NASCAR racing season at Stafford Motor Speedway, Ted Christopher has been racing to help beat breast cancer.
