FERO SPORTSMAN SHOOTOUT 50 TO KICK OFF<\/p>\n
CENTRE FOR SPEED RACING SEASON<\/p>\n
(Shediac, N.B.)\u00a0 — The Centre for Speed, Atlantic Canada\u2019s Super Speedway and \u201cMetro Moncton\u2019s Playground of Power\u201d, will kick off its 2009 stock car racing and motorsports
\nseason with the FERO Sportsman Shootout 50 Season Opener on June 14st at 2:00 p.m., the first of 16 stock car and motorsports events to be presented at the CFS during 2009.<\/p>\n
The Opening Day event will also mark the historic start of the South East Challenge Series, a partnership between the CFS and Riverglade Speedway where drivers in all four regular divisions of Sportsman, Street Stock, Mini Stocks (formerly TigerCats) and Four 4 Fun (formerly Thundercats) will compete at both tracks for the overall 2009 points championships in
\ntheir divisions. This new partnership should ensure increased car counts and more thrills and excitement for fans at both of Southeastern New Brunswick\u2019s premier stock car racing tracks.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, June 13th, CFS will host an \u2018Open Practice\u2019 for all 2009 competitors from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission to this practice day is FREE.<\/p>\n
Apart from the 11 regular South East Challenge Series stock car points championship events in 2009, the CENTRE will also host the CARQUEST Maritime Pro Stock Tour (MPST) on August 15th, three Sportsman Super Series events as well as the Atlantic Street Wars, Atlantic Stock Car Championships and Atlantic Demolition and Endurance Championships over three weekends in October.<\/p>\n
For those who like \u2018crash and bang\u2019 action, the CENTRE will also present three \u2018Days of Destruction\u2019 events, featuring Full Contact, Endurance, and other novelty races in addition
\nto Demolition Derbies. Additionally, the highly anticipated \u2018MONSTER TRUCK MADNESS\u2019 event, featuring some of the top Monster Truck competitors such as \u2018Big Foot\u2019 and \u2018Sudden Impact\u2019, will be held at CFS on August 29th.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the CENTRE will soon outline the details of musical events that will be held at the CFS in July and August.<\/p>\n
The action gets underway
