JOSH SYLVESTER WINS RELIABLE WELDING AND SPEED SK MODIFIED\u00ae ROOKIE OF THE YEAR HONORS AT STAFFORD SPEEDWAY<\/strong><\/p>\n

(Stafford Springs, CT)—For the second time in his racing career, Josh
\nSylvester has become a Reliable Welding and Speed Rookie of the Year winner.
\nSylvester previously was the 2007 SK Light Modified Rookie of the Year and
\nhe is now the 2010 SK Modified\u00ae Rookie of the Year, outlasting a pair of
\nformer SK Light Modified drivers in John Montesanto and Michael Gervais, Jr.
\nFor the season, Sylvester drove to 1 top-5 and 5 top-10 finishes this season
\nto finish in 16th place in the SK Modified\u00ae standings.
\n\u201cI didn\u2019t really consider myself a rookie,\u201d said Sylvester. \u201cThis was my
\nthird season driving an SK car and we ran the Fall Final race at Stafford
\nlast year, so we knew what we were getting into.\u201d
\nSylvester and the #21 Silberman Heating and Cooling team began the year with
\na near top-10 as they finished 11th in the season opening Spring Sizzler,
\nbut they struggled to get a good finish until the SK Modified\u00ae 100, where
\nSylvester earned his first top-10 finish of the year with a 7th place
\nfinish. Sylvester and the team caught fire towards the end of the season
\nwith 3 of their 5 top-10 finishes coming in the last 5 races of the year,
\nincluding their season best finish of 5th on September 10th.
\n\u201cIt was a bit of a frustrating season,\u201d said Sylvester. \u201cWe didn\u2019t
\naccomplish all of our goals this year, but it was nice to be able to win the
\nrookie title for the guys on the crew. We had one top-5 finish this year,
\nbut I felt like we had a couple of races where we should have finished in
\nthe top-10. Normally, I was helping my brother Zach and working on his car,
\nand it was a lot of fun to be able to race with him this season.\u201d
\nSylvester will not return to Stafford with the #21 team for the 2011 season
\nas he will move back to his own car and run limited events while again
\nhelping his brother Zach with his SK effort.
\n\u201cI\u2019ve parted ways with the #21 team,\u201d said Sylvester. \u201cI\u2019m going to run
\nsome limited shows next year with my own car. We\u2019ll run some True Value
\nraces and some SK races, and I\u2019m definitely going to be helping my brother
\nagain witih his car.\u201d
\nSylvester will officially be crowned the 2010 Reliable Welding and Speed SK
\nModified\u00ae Rookie of the Year at the 41st Annual Stafford Motor Speedway
\nChampions Awards Ceremony on Friday, November 19 at the La Renaissance
\nBanquet Facility in East Windsor.
