Fogg and the #51 Rollins Automotive team
made 7 starts this season with a best finish of 11th coming in the season
ending CARQUEST Fall Final event.
“It’s kind of funny that we ended up winning Rookie of the Year,” said Fogg.
“Our plan at the beginning of the year was to only run 3 or 4 races. We had
been working on this car for a while now, and after our first couple of
races, we saw that we were in contention for the rookie title. We’re on a
tight budget, but we were able to scrape some money together and we made a
few more races and I think that we did pretty well for what we had.”
Fogg and the #51 team made the first two races of the 2010 season, then ran
2 more during the summer, and finally they ran 3 of the last 4 races, with
their two best finishes of the year coming in their last 2 races.
“We ran as much as we could this year, we learned a lot about the car and
now we have some good notes to work with,” said Fogg. “We had a lot of help
from Jimmy and Scott Cook setting the car up. I think that we were a bit
underpowered, but we had the car handling pretty well. It might be time to
put a motor in the car and see what we can do. I love the Late Models, they
’re a blast to drive and I love racing at Stafford. It’s a tough track and
the Late Models are a tough division. It’s been a long time since I’ve had
some fun driving a race car, and we had a lot of fun this year.”
With the 2010 season behind them, Fogg says he and the #51 team have some
good news for the 2011 season at Stafford.
“Our sponsor, Rollins Auto, said they would come back with us for next year,
so we’re going to see what we can put together,” said Fogg. “I’d really
like to be able to win a race at Stafford. It’s a great track and I live
real close to the track, so it’s my home track. We’re not looking to get a
whole bunch of wins, we’re just looking to get one win first, and see where
we can go from there.”
Fogg will officially be crowned the 2010 Reliable Welding and Speed Late
Model Rookie of the Year at the 41st Annual Stafford Motor Speedway
Champions Awards Ceremony on Friday, November 19 at the La Renaissance
Banquet Facility in East Windsor.
For more information about the Champions Awards Ceremony, or to order
tickets, contact the Stafford Motor Speedway track office at 860-684-2783 or
visit us on the web at www.staffordspeedway.com.

TIM FOGG WINS RELIABLE WELDING AND SPEED LATE MODEL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR HONORS AT STAFFORD SPEEDWAY (Stafford Springs, CT)—After several years away from competition at Stafford, former SK Light Modified competitor Tim Fogg returned to the Late Model division this season and he captured the 2010 Reliable Welding and Speed Rookie of the Year […]

[196,197

post-3798","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-connecticut","category-stafford-connecticut
["GET
