TIM FOGG WINS RELIABLE WELDING AND SPEED LATE MODEL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR HONORS AT STAFFORD SPEEDWAY<\/strong><\/p>\n

(Stafford Springs, CT)—After several years away from competition at
\nStafford, former SK Light Modified competitor Tim Fogg returned to the Late
\nModel division this season and he captured the 2010 Reliable Welding and
\nSpeed Rookie of the Year award. Fogg and the #51 Rollins Automotive team
\nmade 7 starts this season with a best finish of 11th coming in the season
\nending CARQUEST Fall Final event.
\n\u201cIt\u2019s kind of funny that we ended up winning Rookie of the Year,\u201d said Fogg.
\n\u201cOur plan at the beginning of the year was to only run 3 or 4 races. We had
\nbeen working on this car for a while now, and after our first couple of
\nraces, we saw that we were in contention for the rookie title. We\u2019re on a
\ntight budget, but we were able to scrape some money together and we made a
\nfew more races and I think that we did pretty well for what we had.\u201d
\nFogg and the #51 team made the first two races of the 2010 season, then ran
\n2 more during the summer, and finally they ran 3 of the last 4 races, with
\ntheir two best finishes of the year coming in their last 2 races.
\n\u201cWe ran as much as we could this year, we learned a lot about the car and
\nnow we have some good notes to work with,\u201d said Fogg. \u201cWe had a lot of help
\nfrom Jimmy and Scott Cook setting the car up. I think that we were a bit
\nunderpowered, but we had the car handling pretty well. It might be time to
\nput a motor in the car and see what we can do. I love the Late Models, they
\n\u2019re a blast to drive and I love racing at Stafford. It\u2019s a tough track and
\nthe Late Models are a tough division. It\u2019s been a long time since I\u2019ve had
\nsome fun driving a race car, and we had a lot of fun this year.\u201d
\nWith the 2010 season behind them, Fogg says he and the #51 team have some
\ngood news for the 2011 season at Stafford.
\n\u201cOur sponsor, Rollins Auto, said they would come back with us for next year,
\nso we\u2019re going to see what we can put together,\u201d said Fogg. \u201cI\u2019d really
\nlike to be able to win a race at Stafford. It\u2019s a great track and I live
\nreal close to the track, so it\u2019s my home track. We\u2019re not looking to get a
\nwhole bunch of wins, we\u2019re just looking to get one win first, and see where
\nwe can go from there.\u201d
\nFogg will officially be crowned the 2010 Reliable Welding and Speed Late
\nModel Rookie of the Year at the 41st Annual Stafford Motor Speedway
\nChampions Awards Ceremony on Friday, November 19 at the La Renaissance
\nBanquet Facility in East Windsor.
