Thunder Road Announces 2011 Schedule<\/strong><\/p>\n

Waterbury, VT \u2013 Barre, Vermont\u2019s Thunder Road has announced its schedule for their 52nd season. The famed high-banked \u00bc mile will feature 18 shows, including two American Canadian Tour (ACT) events.<\/p>\n

The 2011 Thunder Road season will commence with the 13th Annual Merchants Bank 150 ACT event on Sunday, May 1. The second Tour event is scheduled for Sunday, September 4 with the 33rd running of the 200 lap Bond Auto Labor Day Classic.

\nThe end of May will see the Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic featuring twin 100s with the Thunder Road Late Models and the Bond\/WIX Tiger Sportsmen Tour on Sunday, May 29. The early season Sunday twilight events make a return in June prior to the commencement of the Thursday night schedule with the Carquest Governor\u2019s Cup on Thursday, June 23.<\/p>\n

Special events remain an important part of the Thunder Road schedule with Pepsi Holiday Fireworks on Monday, July 4, the Times Argus Mid-Season Championships on Thursday, July 14, and the 27th running of the M&M Beverage Enduro 200 on Sunday, August 7. The Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen and the Street Stocks will run a special event on Thursday, August 11, as the Late Models will get the week off in preparation for the special \u201cShort Track Showdown\u201d at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.<\/p>\n

The season will conclude with the running of one of the nation\u2019s most popular and unique short track events, the 3-segment 49th Annual People\u2019s United Bank Milk Bowl on Sunday, October 2.<\/p>\n
