{"id":4023,"date":"2010-12-28T14:04:07","date_gmt":"2010-12-28T19:04:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/?p=9076"},"modified":"2010-12-28T14:04:07","modified_gmt":"2010-12-28T19:04:07","slug":"speedway-95-releases-2011-rules-schedules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/2010\/12\/speedway-95-releases-2011-rules-schedules\/","title":{"rendered":"SPEEDWAY 95 RELEASES 2011 RULES AND SCHEDULES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SPEEDWAY 95 RELEASES 2011 RULES AND SCHEDULES <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speedway 95 has released its rules packages and racing schedule for both the Saturday night and Wednesday night programs for the 2011 season and both have changes designed to increase the attendance of cars and drivers in the pits as well as fans in the grandstands.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nThe Saturday night show will continue to feature the very competitive Late Model Division with only minor changes for the 2011 season. Track co-owner Del Merritt said \u201cThere\u2019s no reason to mess with success. The division had good car counts and very competitive racing, so we tried hard not to ruin a good thing.\u201d The biggest change came in the old Super Street Division, which has been expanded under new rules to allow more fabricated chassis to compete. Drivers will have 2 options next year, both of which have been designed to race competitively against each other. One is specifically for the older Camaro type unibody cars, and the other is for the custom built chassis with stock front clips that are not competitive in the Late Model Division. This new division will be called the Sportsman Division and will replace the old Super Streets. Strictly Streets remain essentially the same, except the transmission rule has been changed to allow stock 3 speed manual transmissions that were banned in the past. The Sport-Fours remain pretty much unchanged, allowing some of the faster Little Enduro cars from the Wednesday night show to make the move up without too much expense. To bring in new drivers at an affordable cost, the speedway will introduce a new \u201cBomber\u201d division, which will be open to V-6, front wheel drive passenger cars that can race with very few modifications.<br \/>\nThe Wednesday night show will remain pretty much the same with the exception of the Little Enduro class. Because some of the cars in that division are racing at speeds and costs that are prohibitive for new drivers, the class had been broken into \u201cA\u201d and \u201cB\u201d divisions, with the \u201cA\u201d division remaining the same as it has been, and the \u201cB\u201d division running with more restrictions and subject to running in either direction at any time. Merritt says this change was made, again, with the idea of making entry level racing more affordable for the guy or gal who wants to give it a try without a huge investment of time or money. All rules have been posted on the track\u2019s website www.speedway 95racing.com, along with the names and telephone numbers of the people to call for questions.<br \/>\nRacing begins at Speedway 95 on Saturday, May 7 at 5:00. The 2011 schedule includes 2 Thursday night events, first on July 14, before the Sprint Cup week-end at Louden N.H, and again on July 21, the Thursday before the Oxford 250 week-end. The Saturday race schedule ends on Saturday September 10. The 2011 Wednesday schedule will run from Wednesday June 1 through Wednesday August 31.
