HEATHER DesROCHERS MOVING UP TO SK MODIFIED\u00ae COMPETITION IN 2011 WITH HELP FROM STEVE GREER & GUNSMOKE STABLES<\/strong><\/p>\n

(Stafford Springs, CT)—The 2011 SK Modified\u00ae season at Stafford Motor
\nSpeedway will see Heather DesRochers become the latest in a long list of
\ndrivers to make the transition from SK Lights into Stafford\u2019s premier
\ndivision. DesRochers has spent the past 4 seasons in the SK Light Modified
\nranks and will make the move up the ladder into the SK Modified\u00ae division
\nwith help from Steve Greer, who will supply DesRochers and her #24 Gunsmoke
\nStables team with an engine for 2011.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m extremely excited about racing in the SK Modified\u00ae division this
\nseason, it\u2019s been a lifelong dream of mine,\u201d said DesRochers. \u201cWe had been
\nlooking at moving up to the SK Modified\u00ae division for a while now, but we
\nweren\u2019t sure about our financial situation with having to purchase a new
\nengine. Out of the blue Steve Greer got in touch with us and asked if we
\nwere planning on moving up, and that if we were, he had an engine for us to
\nuse. It was very lucky for us and extremely generous of Steve to lend us an
\nengine for the season. Steve and his wife Diana are a great family and we\u2019
\nre excited about working with them this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

While DesRochers will have a new experience with the power of the SK
\nModified\u00ae, she is very familiar with the chassis that she will be driving.
\nDesRochers will also lean on her SK Light experience as she embarks on her
\nrookie campaign in the SK Modified\u00ae division.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have the same car that we used in the SK Lights and we\u2019ve been working
\nwith that car for 4 seasons, so we know the car pretty well,\u201d said
\nDesRochers. \u201cI haven\u2019t yet been in an SK\u00ae, so it will be a whole new
\nexperience for me. It\u2019s going to be tough for sure, but the SK Light taught
\nme the basics and gave me a lot to take forward into the SK Modified
\ndivision\u00ae. I think the SK Lights are a great place for someone to get
\nstarted and I\u2019m looking forward to the challenge this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

While DesRochers and the Gunsmoke Stables team have their sights set on
\nwinning Rookie of the Year honors, they are also looking towards the future
\nwith using this year as a building block for a solid foundation in years to
\ncome.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe definitely want to win Rookie of the Year,\u201d said DesRochers. \u201cOther
\nthan that, we just want to finish races, learn about the car, and build off
\nof each week. The main goal for us is to get situated with the car and use
\nthis year as a foundation year for the future. A top-15 finish in the
\npoints would be a great year for us, we don\u2019t want to get too high or too
\nlow, just take things as they come. We know it\u2019s going to be an adventurous
\nyear for us. There is some tough competition in the SK\u2019s\u00ae, but there were
\nsome really strong drivers in the SK Lights last year and there will be
\ntough drivers no matter what division you race in. It\u2019s been an exciting
\nwinter for us and we\u2019re busy getting prepared. We\u2019re looking for extra crew
\nhelp because we will need extra help with the SK\u00ae car.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nsponsorship from Harvey Morris of Cheshire, CT, A. Crane Construction of
\nChicopee, MA, Capa Di Roma Sauce\/ Roma Restaurant of East Hartford, CT ,
\nFrasco Fuel Oil of West Springfield, MA, Victory Motorsports Marketing of

\nSystems of CT.<\/p>\n

DesRochers will make her 2011 SK Modified\u00ae debut at the season opening
\nCARQUEST Tech-Net Spring Sizzler, which is scheduled for April 29-May 1.
\nThe SK Modifieds\u00ae will be joined by the Whelen Modified Tour as well as
\nStafford\u2019s other four NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions. Tickets
\nfor the \u201cGreatest Race in the History of Spring\u201d are on sale now at the
\nSpeedway Box Office. Tickets are priced at $35.00 for adult general
\nadmission tickets, $5.00 for children ages 6-14, and children ages 5 and
\nunder are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Reserved
\nseating is priced at $38.00 for all ages. As always, Stafford Motor
\nSpeedway offers free parking with overnight parking available.
