The Sunday June 19, 2011 event will help lead the anticipation of<br \/>\nthe Champions For Charities event at CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday on June 28,<br \/>\n2011.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n\u201cThe CARQUEST Champions For Charities event was not only designed to help<br \/>\nworthy causes but to challenge the drivers, teams, and their charities of<br \/>\nchoice to get involved and raise funds for their causes while having fun at<br \/>\nthe same time,\u201d said Stafford Motor Speedway Executive Vice President Lisa<br \/>\nArute. \u201cStafford Speedway is thrilled to be hosting one of the first Racing<br \/>\nAgainst Cancer Track Walks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>All funds raised at the CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday Champions For Charities<br \/>\nTrack Walk to benefit Racing Against Cancer will be credited to RAC<br \/>\nChampions For Charities driver and 7-time ISMA Champion Russ Wood. The<br \/>\nstarting lineups for the CARQUEST Champions For Charities qualifying races<br \/>\nwill be determined by how much money each driver raises for their selected<br \/>\ncharity. The starting grid will be set with the drivers who have raised the<br \/>\nmost money starting up front. Fans are encouraged to get involved in the<br \/>\nevent by donating to their favorite driver or favorite charity.<\/p>\n<p>Scott Gregory, co-founder of the RAC Team, stated, \u201cThis is one of the first<br \/>\nTrack Walk events for the new RAC program; RAC is thrilled to have it take<br \/>\nplace in Connecticut, the state that has been home to RAC for the past 16<br \/>\nyears.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Racing Against Cancer\u2122 was founded in 1996; the original goal was the raise<br \/>\nawareness and funds for the American Cancer Society. Through the efforts of<br \/>\nmany generous and talented racing teams and organizations, the Racing<br \/>\nAgainst Cancer\u2122 program has generated in excess of $660,000 for the fight<br \/>\nagainst cancer since the team\u2019s inception. In 2010 the RAC Team expanded its<br \/>\nlist of benefactors to twelve, including David\u2019s House of New Hampshire,<br \/>\nVictory Junction Gang Camp, Ronald McDonald\u2019s Houses of Providence and<br \/>\nCharlotte, St. Judes, and other patient care services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRAC and Stafford Speedway hope that the fans, other teams, and local<br \/>\ncommunity will come together for a fun motorsports based activity to support<br \/>\na great cause. It really is a great way to bond and enjoy an afternoon with<br \/>\nyour fellow competitors or meet and talk with your favorite driver while on<br \/>\nthe racetrack surface,\u201d said Gregory.<\/p>\n<p>CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday will take place on June 28, 2011 and will also<br \/>\nfeature the ISMA Super Modifieds, NEMA Midgets, and Pro-4 Modifieds. Tickets<br \/>\nfor CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday are on sale now at the Speedway Box Office and<br \/>\nare priced at $30.00 for adult general admission tickets, $5.00 for children<br \/>\nages 6-14, and children ages 5 and under are admitted free of charge when<br \/>\naccompanied by an adult.
