SHAYNE PRUCKER LOOKS TO CONTEND FOR SK LIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP AT STAFFORD WITH MAINLINE HEATING & SUPPLY AS HIS SPONSOR<\/strong><\/p>\n

(Stafford Springs, CT)—After an up and down rookie season that saw him
\nfinish 17th in the SK Light Modified points standings, Stafford Springs
\nnative Shayne Prucker will return to his hometrack this season with Mainline
\nHeating and Supply as his sponsor for the second consecutive season. After
\nhis rough 2010 season, he is looking to push ahead and is setting his goal
\nto capture the 2011 SK Light Modified championship.
\n
\n\u201cI really think we have a good chance at winning the championship this
\n year,\u201d said Prucker. \u201cLast year we had more bad luck than good, and every
\ntime we thought something worked for us, it seemed like things changed. Our
\ngoal is to get to the front, and be a strong contender throughout the season
\nin every race.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prucker and the Mainline Heating & Supply team had a great start to their
\nrookie season with a solid ninth place finish in the CARQUEST Tech-Net
\nSpring Sizzler event. But the second race of the year found Prucker caught
\nup in a multicar accident, which sidelined the team for several weeks while
\nthey repaired the car.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe wrecks we got into last year were pretty tough for us to recover from,\u201d
\nsaid Prucker. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t fun for us missing a few races and with the
\nhandicapping it was tough having to start in the back of the pack.\u201d
\nAlthough there were several lows for Prucker and the Mainline team last
\nseason, there were also some high points. Along with his debut top-10
\nfinish, Prucker posted three of his four top-10 finishes over his final 5
\nstarts of the season and he is confident that he can repeat that performance
\nthis year.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving a year of experience will definitely help us out a lot this year,\u201d
\nsaid Prucker. \u201cThe past year, we learned and accomplished a lot. We
\nlearned what we should and shouldn\u2019t do with the car and we learned what
\nwill and won\u2019t work for us. If we get luck on our side, it should lead to a
\ngreat season. With the car working properly and big power from RAD Auto
\nMachine, hopefully we can make some magic happen. With my crew chief, Don
\nBessette, my dad and Austin Bessette, I feel like I have a great team behind
\nme. We all work well together and hopefully we can have a successful year.
\nWe rebuilt the car together over the winter, and we\u2019re always talking about
\nhow we can make things better or what might make the car go faster or turn
\nbetter. Between the four of us, I feel we can build a top notch race car.\u201d
\nPrucker will begin his quest for the SK Light championship on April 30 as
\npart of the 40th Annual CARQUEST Tech-Net Spring Sizzler Weekend. The SK
\nLights will be joined by the Whelen Modified Tour as well as Stafford’s
\nother four NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions for an action packed
\nweekend of NASCAR racing. Tickets for the “Greatest Race in the History of
\nSpring” are on sale now at the Speedway Box Office. Tickets are priced at
\n$35.00 for adult general admission tickets, $5.00 for children ages 6-14,
\nand children ages 5 and under are admitted free of charge when accompanied
\nby an adult. Reserved seating is priced at $38.00 for all ages. As always,
\nStafford Motor Speedway offers free parking with overnight parking
\navailable.<\/p>\n
