Hamilton will take part<br \/>\nin the CARQUEST Champions For Charities go kart race while racing for The<br \/>\nVictory Junction Gang Camp.  The Victory Junction Gang Camp was built in<br \/>\nhonor of Adam Petty and they provide life-changing experiences for children<br \/>\nwith chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love to be able to help kids,\u201d said Hamilton.  \u201cWe\u2019re very fortunate in<br \/>\nthat we are able to do what we do racing cars and anytime I can do something<br \/>\nfor kids, I always like to help out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton is a veteran of West Coast Supermodified competition, winning a<br \/>\ntotal of 6 championships from 1987-1991 in Northwest Supermodified<br \/>\nAssociation, Western States Supermodified Tour, Supermodified Racing<br \/>\nAssociation, and Injected Fire and Fury Series supermodified competition.<br \/>\nHamilton\u2019s Supermodified success carried him to the world of IndyCars.<br \/>\nHis IZOD IndyCar career started in 1996, with the Idaho native finishing the<br \/>\n9th in the Series point chase.  Hamilton finished second in IZOD IndyCar<br \/>\npoints for two consecutive years, finishing behind Tony Stewart in 1997 and<br \/>\nKenny Brack in 1998.  Hamilton took part in every IndyCar Series race from<br \/>\nthe series\u2019 inception in 1996 through the Texas race in 2001 when injuries<br \/>\nsustained from a crash ended his streak of consecutive starts at 48 races.<br \/>\nHamilton has made 10 career starts in the Indy 500 and his best finish was a<br \/>\nfourth place in 1998.   His appearance in a Wild Thing Kart Senior Outlaw<br \/>\nmachine for the CARQUEST Champions for Charities event  will take him back<br \/>\nto his early racing days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been years since I\u2019ve been behind the wheel of a go kart,\u201d said<br \/>\nHamilton.  \u201cMy son races go karts and I spend all my time working on them, I<br \/>\nhaven\u2019t had the chance to drive.  It\u2019s going to be pretty cool to be able to<br \/>\nrace a go kart for charity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his CARQUEST Champions For Charities appearance, Hamilton<br \/>\nhopes to also test his West Coast Supermodified skills in the headline event<br \/>\nthat night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m working on a deal right now with Mike Muldoon to drive one of his ISMA<br \/>\nsupers,\u201d said Hamilton.  \u201cThe supers are my favorite cars to drive, that\u2019s<br \/>\nwhere it all got started for me.  Without racing supermodifieds on the west<br \/>\ncoast, I never would have had the opportunity that I did to go IndyCar<br \/>\nracing.  I\u2019ve only been to Stafford once before and that was as a spectator,<br \/>\nbut I was very impressed with the facility and the speed of the cars.  I\u2019m<br \/>\nexcited about coming back to race at Stafford and I\u2019m looking forward to<br \/>\nraising some money for charity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday will take place on June 28, 2011 and will also<br \/>\nfeature the ISMA Super Modifieds, NEMA Midgets, and Pro-4 Modifieds.<br \/>\nTickets for CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday are on sale now at the Speedway Box<br \/>\nOffice and are priced at $30.00 for adult general admission tickets, $5.00<br \/>\nfor children ages 6-14, and children ages 5 and under are admitted free of<br \/>\ncharge when accompanied by an adult.  Reserved seating is priced at $32.00<br \/>\nfor all ages.
