It’s (rain), not an equalizer. You do get in a rhythm every week. You get prepped, and when you get rained out it’s a downer.

“There’s been too much rain, but we’re ready to go. I’m looking forward to it. We went and tested there with Devil’s Bowl being close to us. It’s a nice little half-mile in the middle of a field. It looks like it puts on some great racing, and I’m pumped to get there and to race on it for the first time.

On the challenge of going to a track for the first time: “It is a bit of a challenge, so that is why we tested – just to check out the track.

“Number one: You’re trying to figure the track out. We’ve done that and gotten an idea for the setup. We’ll have to adjust (on race day). You just never know what’s going to happen. In heat races you set it up for the short run, and then in the feature you set up for the long run. You rely on local guys and see what everyone does. You hope you get common answers. It’s a bit of a guessing game.

“It’s going to be a first time for many of the ACT guys. We’re all going to be on equal ground. (RPM Motorsports) usually adapts quicker than other guys. It’s going to be a good race – learning how to pass, set up people to pass, and where to pass. I think we’ll be alright.”

UP NEXT

The ACT Late Model Tour heads to Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, for the rescheduled The Big Jab 150 on Saturday, June 4… Brian Hoar has never won at Oxford Plains, though he did finish second in the TD Bank 250 there last summer. The race will be the first to two ACT stops at Oxford in a three-week span.

ACT Forum
ACT News

Brian Hoar: ACT Late Model Tour Devil’s Bowl Speedway Race Preview THE STORY Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., takes on the ACT Late Model Tour Spring Green 111 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vt., on Sunday, May 22.
