West Haven, VT \u2013 Joey Polewarczyk Jr fought an ill-handling car to a disappointing 19th place finish at his first ever trip to the recently paved half-mile speedway.<\/p>\n
The ACT Late Model Tour made its Devil\u2019s Bowl debut with a strong 40 Late Models, vying for 32 starting spots. Joey started last (13th) in his Heat Race. \u201cWe were once again the fastest during practice and we almost had the car to where it could turn in the center of the corner like I like\u201d Polewarczyk states. \u201cWe almost qualified through our Heat Race; we set ourselves up for a good Consolation race starting spot\u201d<\/p>\n
During the Consolation race, Polewarczyk came together with another car and knocked the suspension out of tolerance. \u201cWe knocked the Toe out which we were able to fix before the main event. We qualified and started in the 23rd starting spot and we really thought we had a contending car\u201d says Polewarczyk

\nAfter starting deep in the 32-car field, Polewarczyk was working his way through traffic. While braking into corner one; a right-front brake line broke, which sent the Pole\u2019s Automotive, NH Precision Ford over the turn two banking.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe pedal went right to the floor and I had to make the split decision, do I spin and put myself head-on with the rest of the field or do I get out of the way? I chose to get out of the way,\u201d Joey says. \u201cBefore the brake issue, I really thought I had a winning car. My team did a great job out there today. I am happy that we salvaged a top 20 finish.<\/p>\n
