Usually Dean races at Speedway 95, but they had the weekend off,  so along with some of the other drivers they made the trip to Unity, last weekend to take on \u201cMaine\u2019s Toughest Track\u201d once again. Though last weekend the 24 car made the long trip north to \u201cSpud Speedway\u201d, where he finished 2nd behind Austin Theriault.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maineracingmedia.com\/images\/deane24.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The key to getting around Unity raceway, \u201cgetting around on the bottom is the way to get to the front at Unity.\u201d   As far as being the toughest track in Maine, Dean had this to say, \u201cIt\u2019s the funnest tracks, I don\u2019t know about toughest but, defiantly the funnest.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Deane got started in racing about 20 years ago, \u201cThe last couple years Doug Sinclair, from Sinclair\u2019s Towing in Carmel, (Maine) bought me to new cars one last year and a new one this year. All the works been done down at Burgess\u2019s.  Jeff Burgess he\u2019s a lot of help, I can call him on the cell phone and whether he\u2019s sitting there on the TV or in the garage working he gives us what we need for answers. He\u2019s made us fast at every track we\u2019ve been at.\u201d  Jeff Burgess had won the 1st two races at Unity Raceway can you beat him tonight? \u201cWere hoping so, we will find out how good he is he built the car and set it up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Deane finished last weekend\u2019s race at Unity in 17th place so look for Deane this weekend tearing up the track and hopefully taking the checkered flag for his 1st win of the season. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>story by Chris Roy Driving the number 24 late model Deane Smart, raced the \u201cLong John\u201d last season here at Unity Raceway.
