Everyone tries to run that bottom groove. It’s a track that I’m looking forward to getting back to and getting comfortable at. The results – we’ve only been there one time – haven’t really shown how good we can be there.

“If you can get your car working on the bottom groove and have good bite off the corners, you’ll be hard to beat. I’m really looking forward to getting to the track this weekend and getting into our rhythm again.”

On improving each week on the ACT Late Model Tour: “The past couple of weeks have been a challenge, I’d say. Like we’ve talked about earlier, we’re still making strides in the right direction – the whole team, myself and everyone, they’re working as hard as we can to try and improve our performance.

“Oxford was another struggle, but everyone’s working hard. I think that we’ll come out of this in good shape. This weekend will be an opportunity for us not only to have fun, but to have a good finish – to show everyone we can run up front.”

On getting things turned around as the summer starts to get busy: “We kind of had a little team meeting to talk about our struggles. I think that we’re all coming around. Everyone’s on the same page, and that’s the most important thing.

“I think we’re at the point now where things should start to come together and we’ll start seeing that. It’s just like we talked about at the start of the season – we knew there was going to be learning curve and we know there’s still lots of work to do. We’re ready for that.”

UP NEXT

The ACT Late Model Tour returns to Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, for the second time in three weeks for The Q 97.9 FM 150 on Saturday, June 25… Austin Theriault finished 16th last time out at Oxford, the track where he made his ACT debut in 2009.

ACT Forum
ACT News

Austin Theriault: ACT Late Model Tour White Mountain Motorsports Park Race Preview THE STORY Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, joins the rest of the ACT Late Model Tour for the ACT 150 at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, N.H., on Saturday, June 18.
