(July 21, 2011) – While most NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers will be spending their off weekend relaxing far away from the race track, Kyle Busch considers running two late model races at Oxford (Maine) Plains Speedway a relaxing weekend. The 26-year-old’s main goal this weekend is to knock winning the TD Bank 250 off his racing bucket list, but Busch, who is used to running multiple NASCAR races in the same weekend, is also entered in the Pro All Star Series (PASS) Super Late Model 150 on Saturday.

Hood, the number-one dairy brand in New England, will be the primary sponsor on Busch’s No. 51 Camry for Sunday’s TD Bank 250. With KBM partnering with Scott and Penny Blake from SPD racing in Standish, Maine for the race, having Hood, SPD Racing’s primary sponsor, was a natural fit.

Aaron’s, the nation’s leader in the sales and lease ownership and specialty retailing of residential furniture, consumer electronics, home appliances and accessories, will be the primary sponsor on Busch’s No. 51 Camry for Saturday’s Pro All Star Series Super Late Model 150.

“It’s no secret that I love to race, so I’ll be spending my weekend off from the Sprint Cup Series running two late model races at Oxford Plains Speedway,” said Busch. “This year we decided to bring KBM equipment for both races and I can’t thank Hood and Aaron’s enough for helping to make that possible. I had one of the fastest cars and led a bunch of laps in my previous two starts in the TD Bank 250 but wasn’t able to seal the deal. Hopefully, the third time will be the charm.”

KBM has prepared a brand new Camry, KBM-011, for Sunday’s TD Bank 250. Busch visited Oxford Plains Speedway last Thursday to test the new car, which is the first chassis the team has built to compete under American-Canadian Tour rules. For Saturday’s PASS Super Late Model 150, the team will be bringing KBM-010, which is two-for-two since being built this winter. Busch won with the Camry in the Rowdy 251 at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich. on June 22 and followed that up with a win in the Slinger Nationals at Slinger (Wisc.) Super Speedway on July 18.

The Las Vegas native is returning to the 3/8-mile oval for the first time since running in back-to-back TD Bank 250’s in 2005 and 2006. Busch led 70 laps of the 2005 event and had a straightaway lead before finishing sixth after having to make a late-race pit stop. In 2006, he came from the 20th starting spot to win the consolation race and was leading the feature before engine problems relegated him to a 22nd-place finish.

“The track is a lot of fun to drive. It’s very flat, the corners are very round and the straightaways aren’t very long,” said Busch. “Bill Ryan and his staff treated me excellent during my first two trips to Oxford and they’ve got great fan support.”

Kyle Busch Ready for this Weekend’s “Maine” Event NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Star Racing Late Models at Oxford Plains Speedway MOORESVILLE, N.C.
