\nOxford Plains Speedway Race Report<\/strong><\/p>\n

OXFORD, Maine \u2013 Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., finished eighth in his PASS North Series debut at the Brackett Mechanical 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Saturday, July 23. Hoar, who started 18th in the RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge, steadily worked his way to the front, cracking the Top-10 by the halfway mark of the event. He got caught up in the track position game on a couple of late restarts but was ultimately able to post a Top-10 finish in an event that more than 40 cars attempted to qualify for. It was the first career Super Late Model start for both Hoar and RPM, which will complete its doubleheader weekend by running the 38th annual TD Bank Oxford 250 on Sunday.

BRIAN, HOW ARE YOU GUYS FEELING NOW?<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re psyched. We’re really psyched. The car was pretty good. We were a little bit tight all night, but it was fun. It was really interesting \u2013 I think what we thought would happen happened. All these guys with big motors could go like a son-of-a-gun for a little while, and then they’d start fading. We’d come plugging along with our little motor, and we were handling really good at the end.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe got into a really good battle with Mike and Ben Rowe and (Scott Chubbuck) for a while. A couple of those guys used us up at the end, but it was good racing.\u201d<\/p>\n

WAS IT HARD TO GET TRACK POSITION ALL NIGHT?<\/p>\n

\u201cEarly on it was, because everybody was on fresh tires and they could all really get to the bottom. But 50 or 60 laps into the race, the groove moved up to the middle of the track and that’s when we could start picking off cars on the bottom.<\/p>\n

\u201cPart of it was probably that we probably weren’t carrying the straightaway speed that they were, so it’s not as abusive trying to get down into the corner. We obviously don’t have the horsepower to spin the tires coming up off. Traction was a problem on the bottom, so that makes for that interesting racing at a typical Oxford.\u201d<\/p>\n

YOU MUST FEEL GOOD AFTER THIS.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re pretty pumped. I think we had a Top-5 car. Coulda, woulda, shoulda \u2013 but we only have a couple tire marks on the car. It was a great experience. It was a lot of fun.<\/p>\n
