OXFORD, Maine \u2013 Joey Doiron of Berwick, Maine, finished 10th in the PASS North Series Brackett Mechanical 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, On Saturday, July 23. Started sixth but handling problems forced him to the pits on Lap 92, after which he worked his way up through traffic to post his fourth Top-10 finish in seven starts this season.

JOEY, WHAT HAPPENED?<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was another frustrating race at Oxford \u2013 that’s been like my whole career at this place. We were pretty good in practice, and I thought we were going to be a Top-5 car after that heat race. I was just riding at the beginning \u2013 there just isn’t much I could do with a crate motor at this place. I was just waiting for everybody to use their stuff up.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was working pretty good, and I thought I was starting to make some forward progress. But I guess some guys running three laps down just don’t have any courtesy.\u201d<\/p>\n

WHAT DID YOU GUYS WORK ON DURING YOUR PIT STOP?<\/p>\n

\u201cI was trying to free it up some. It was pushing up the race track. There were a couple times I almost brushed the wall it was pushing so bad. What we did when we came it, it helped it for a couple laps after a restart, but once we got going the tires got hot again it got pushing again.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat last caution helped a little but, because it bunched everybody up. I thought I was better than the two cars in front of me, but that’s just what happens sometimes on a one-groove race track.\u201d<\/p>\n

SO, IT WAS A PRETTY HARD-FOUGHT TOP-10?<\/p>\n

\u201cOh yeah. I haven’t had to drive that hard to finish in the Top-10 ever.\u201d<\/p>\n
