Hoar started the feature on the outside pole after an impressive 9th-to-4th-place run in his heat race, and he cleared the polesitter on the first lap and went on to lead 43 laps. He would eventually be passed, and settle into the Top-5 for the rest of the race as his handling continued to go away. In the closing laps, Hoar battled with teammate Austin Theriault to give RPM Motorsports two cars in the Top-6 at the checkered flag.

WHO: Brian Hoar, Williston,Vt.
TEAM: RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge
CREW CHIEF: Rick Paya, Georgia, Vt.

WHAT: ACT Late Model Tour 150
WHERE: Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Scarborough, Me. I mean, last year we had a little problem and (the car) got really tight during the race so we figured we would make an adjustment tonight so that wouldn’t happen – and that definitely didn’t happen. We were way too loose.

“Obviously, it was faster the first 20 laps. I knew right off that it was way too fast, so it was going to be a long night and it was. We were probably lucky to finish where we did as loose as it was. We almost spun out in turn one with five to go. Very, very loose. I turned really well through the center (of the turns) but no bite in and no bite off. We did that to ourselves. It was as much my call as anyone else’s. Nobody to blame. but we learn a little bit every time that we come here.”

IS THIS PLACE AS TRICKY AS THEY SAY IT IS?

“We have a great race car. Two years ago, it’s funny, we come back here for the first time in forever and it seems like we hit it perfect. We’re working to get it back to there. I know we could have. I know the last few adjustments we made probably could have made all the difference in the world but that’s OK.

“We got another good Top-10 run. It was a good points night. We led a few laps. The car is relatively unscathed and we still have lots of racing left to do this year. We’re still in contention and have a great season going still.”

Maine Racing Forum – http://maineracing.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=89

Brian Hoar: ACT Late Model Tour Beech Ridge Motor Speedway Race Report SCARBOROUGH, Maine – Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., finished sixth in the American Canadian Tour 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, July 30.
