{"id":6757,"date":"2011-08-14T09:14:54","date_gmt":"2011-08-14T13:14:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/?p=9076"},"modified":"2011-08-15T09:16:59","modified_gmt":"2011-08-15T13:16:59","slug":"polewarczyk-finishes-12th-place-hampshire-motor-speedway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/2011\/08\/polewarczyk-finishes-12th-place-hampshire-motor-speedway\/","title":{"rendered":"Polewarczyk finishes in 12th place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/maineracer.com\/images\/ACT.jpg\" alt=\"ACT Tour Racing\" \/><br \/>\nLoudon, NH \u2013 Joey Polewarczyk of Hudson, NH comes away from New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) with a solid 12th place finish in the inaugural American-Canadian Tour (ACT) All-Star Challenge, held on August 12 and 13.<\/p>\n<p>This unique challenge has 2 segments comprised of (1) 25-lap and (1) 50-lap race to decide the champion. The winner is determined with \u201cMonza\u201d style scoring, which means both the racers finishing positions are added together; with the lowest overall point value being was awarded the victory.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nJoey put the #97NH Pole\u2019s Automotive Ford Fusion in the fifteenth spot; on the forty-four starting grid in segment one.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe car was good in qualifying, we were a little tight off the corners but we had made some changes during our practice session.\u201d  Polewarczyk went on to talk about segment one. \u201cWe rolled off, with what we thought was actually a great starting spot, we figured with the top 36 finishers in segment 1 being inverted for the last segment, if we could get a good finishing spot we would set ourselves up for a good segment 2.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Joey said that the car seemed to be getting tighter as the first segment came to a close, Polewarczyk came away with an eleventh place finish in segment one.<\/p>\n<p>After the top thirty-six finishers sports were inverted for segment two, Polewarczyk would start in 25th place. Joey would say, \u201cWe wanted to get a little higher for a finishing spot in segment for 1 but the car was just tight all weekend\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Once the final segment started, Joey realized quickly that the changes did not help loosen the car up. \u201cWe really knew within a couple laps that we were in trouble. I can\u2019t remember dealing with such a tight car here at NHMS. It certainly wasn\u2019t for a lack of effort from our team, that\u2019s for sure\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Polewarczyk would finish 19th in the second segment for an overall score of 30. Joey actually gained ground in the ACT point standings and currently sits in eighth place.
