{"id":694,"date":"2009-06-30T19:10:24","date_gmt":"2009-07-01T00:10:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/?p=9076"},"modified":"2009-06-30T19:28:40","modified_gmt":"2009-07-01T00:28:40","slug":"all-star-speedway-6-27-race-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/2009\/06\/all-star-speedway-6-27-race-report\/","title":{"rendered":"All-Star Speedway 6-27 Race Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: small\">Epping, NH \u2013 Veteran racer Eric Hudson  collected his first NASCAR Whelen All-American Series All-Star Modified  feature win of the 2009 season last Saturday night, piloting the Newmarket  Sand and Gravel machine to an impressive victory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: small\">Veteran campaigner Sumner Scott of  nearby Barrington broke out to the early lead when starter Mike Walker  unfurled the green flag, and Scott set the pace for the first 23 laps  of the race. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: small\">A restart at that point allowed Hudson  to get past for the lead, just as a major wreck broke out behind him,  involving several early-race contenders.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: small\">Scott got out of shape and collected  several other cars, with the front straightaway blocked by the wreckage  when the smoke cleared.\u00a0 J.R. Baril, Todd Patnode, Dana Smith,  and Bill Boudreau were among those eliminated along with Scott.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: small\">When racing resumed, Hudson had his  hands full with 2009 feature winner Mike Murphy and Joe Lemay making  it a three-car battle for the win, but Hudson held strong, leading them  under the checkers to score the win.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: small\">Coming off his first win of the year  the race before, Murphy claimed runner-up honors, with two-time winner  Lemay taking home third.\u00a0 Bobby MacArthur picked up a fourth place  finish, with Arthur Heino, Jr. rounding out the top five.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: small\">Gary Beauregard dominated the action  in the Super Streets, opening up a comfortable margin on his way to  win number three on the season over Steve Wilmot and Rob DeAlmeida in  the John and Robin Bourdelais entry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: small\">Keith Walton topped a strong field  of Strictly Stocks to grab his second feature win of the season, outrunning  Chris Augevich to grab the win.\u00a0 Mark Parenteau, Stephen Dubois,  and Keith \u201cSlika\u201d Ennis finished up the top five.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: small\">The action was fast ad furious throughout  the Fast-4 feature event, where Jason Poisson made a late-race pass  with the checkered flag in sight to score his first career win.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: small\">Joey Fernandez followed up his first  win of the year with a solid runner-up effort, with Tyler Mailhot, Cory  Sullivan, Cindy Sevigny, Ken Mailhot, Jim Deveau, Greg Cummings, Nick  Bushey, and Jason Hodgdon finishing up the top ten.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Epping, NH \u2013 Veteran racer Eric Hudson collected his first NASCAR Whelen All-American Series All-Star Modified feature win of the 2009 season last Saturday night, piloting the Newmarket Sand and Gravel machine to an impressive victory.
