{"id":7009,"date":"2011-08-29T18:11:57","date_gmt":"2011-08-29T22:11:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/?p=9076"},"modified":"2011-08-29T18:11:57","modified_gmt":"2011-08-29T22:11:57","slug":"lee-usa-speedway-finishes-august-26th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/2011\/08\/lee-usa-speedway-finishes-august-26th\/","title":{"rendered":"LEE USA SPEEDWAY FINISHES FOR AUGUST 26th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lee, NH &#8211; Lee USA Speedway hosted another round of NASCAR Whelen<br \/>\nAll-American Series action on Friday night, with the Benson Lumber and<br \/>\nHardware Small Block Supermodified, Prime Storage Late Model Sportsman,<br \/>\nDavid&#8217;s Race Cars and Components Hobby Stock, and RE\/MAX Ironman feature<br \/>\nevents all paying double points.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nIn addition, the Northeast Classic Lites joined the program for a non-points<br \/>\nevent, and the fourth round of the Pro Stock\/Super Late Model Six Pack<br \/>\nShoot-Out went into the record books as well.<\/p>\n<p>Matt Frahm of Salem took down the win in impressive fashion in that 50-lap<br \/>\nfeature event, driving through the field after starting tail due to a<br \/>\nfirst-lap incident, and powering past race-long leader J.R. Baril with five<br \/>\nlaps remaining to take down the victory.<\/p>\n<p>Baril collected runner-up honors in the post-race ceremony, with series<br \/>\npoint leader Donnie Lashua rounding out the podium in the third spot.<br \/>\nFourth went to Jake Vanada, with Sulo Burbank, Austin Brehio, J.D. Miller,<br \/>\nRich Eaton, Chris Wilk, and Jeremy Davis fifth through tenth.<\/p>\n<p>Mike Netishen broke out to the early lead in the Small Block Super Modified<br \/>\n30-lap main event, when flagman Bryon Callen waved the green flag on the<br \/>\nfield 18 starters.<br \/>\nBen Tinker put in a solid run all night to collect a second win of the year,<br \/>\nwith &#8220;Super Dave&#8221; Sanborn, Wayne Helliwell, Jr., Mike Ordway, Jr., Matt<br \/>\nRiley, Tommy Tombarello, Jr., George Perreault, Jr., Tony Carroll, Sparky<br \/>\nMacIver, Moe Lattime, John Leonard, Mike Murphy, Jim Barker, Matt Seavey,<br \/>\nBryan Kruczek, Leslie Keyser and Mike Nethishen next in the final rundown.<\/p>\n<p>Late Model Sportsman point leader Bobby Melvin was sidelined due to<br \/>\nmechanical issues he suffered in practice, and with an 18-car field in their<br \/>\npit area as well, it was a bad night for a DNS for the popular Melvin.<\/p>\n<p>Grant Aither climbed aboard the Ricky Porter machine for the night, and went<br \/>\non his way to taking home another win.  J. R. Baril finished in second spot<br \/>\nwith Bill Ahern making his season debut with a strong 3rd place finish.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth went to Ryan Green, followed by Tony Kawejsza, Brian Grantz, Timmy<br \/>\nJohnson, early leader Kayla Cazares, Larry Moloney, Ryan Gath rounded out<br \/>\nyour top ten.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Dubois collected his first win of the year in the Hobby Stocks, taking<br \/>\nadvantage of a late-race restart that erased a straightaway lead held by<br \/>\nSteve Douphinette.  Dubois got the jump on the outside, easily passed<br \/>\nDouphinette, and went on to score the win.<\/p>\n<p>Douphinette picked up the second place trophy, with Mike Williams, Bobby<br \/>\nGlass, Brian Thompson, Jim Shorey, Mike Anderson, Jim Piaseczny, Brian<br \/>\nDeStefano, and Eric Hoffman the remainder of the top ten.<\/p>\n<p>Kyle Roy came from the rear to win another feature in the Ironman main<br \/>\nevent, making his way back to victory lane and another interview with<br \/>\ntrackside announcer Peter Falconi.
