{"id":7075,"date":"2011-09-05T05:00:07","date_gmt":"2011-09-05T09:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/?p=9076"},"modified":"2011-09-04T23:02:16","modified_gmt":"2011-09-05T03:02:16","slug":"nick-sweet-king-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/2011\/09\/nick-sweet-king-road\/","title":{"rendered":"Nick Sweet Still King Of The Road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/maineracer.com\/images\/thunder.jpg\" alt=\"Thunder Road\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Nick Sweet Still King Of The Road<br \/>\nSweet wins ACT Labor Day Classic 200 In 2nd RPM Motorsports Start<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BARRE, Vt. \u2013 Nick Sweet made himself right at home on Sunday afternoon, winning the ACT Late Model Tour Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 at Thunder Road International Speedbowl on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The victory for Sweet came in just his second start in the RPM Motorsports No. 57 Saint J Auto Ford.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n\u201cI&#8217;ve got to thank all the guys that work on this car, and car owner Rick Paya for giving me the opportunity to drive this car,\u201d Sweet said. \u201cIt was just an awesome, awesome day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sweet ran with the leaders all afternoon and opted to make a late pit stop for fresh tires with just over 50 laps remaining. By Lap 184, he was lined up outside of the race leader for a restart, moving past just three laps later en route to victory.<\/p>\n<p>It was Sweet&#8217;s second ACT win of the season at Thunder Road, where he won the 2010 track championship. Sweet also won the Merchants Bank 150 in May.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe guys, they called it perfect. They said, &#8216;It&#8217;s time to come and pit,&#8217;\u201d Sweet said. \u201cMan, it was awesome. It was so much fun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis means a lot,\u201d RPM Motorsports owner Rick Paya said. \u201c I knew that the 57 was a winning team and a winning car with Andrew Hill crew chiefing.
