Maki started fifth on the starting grid and by the fifth lap was going three-wide on the outside to pass Todd Warren who was running in first place and Ron Lord who had been in second trying to pass Warren.

From that point on the race was for second as Maki stretched his lead to half of a lap by the end of the caution-free race. Lord made it passed Warren and took Dean Wendell with him as he passed Warren. Wendell and Lord ran side by side with Wendell in the high groove for many laps until Wendell finally cleared Lord. Wendell finished second. Geoff Rollins made it past Lord to finish third. Lord hung on for fourth and Dave Blanchard was fifth.

Tommy Lord led much of the first half of the Roadrunners main but had Johnny Reefer and Nick Fisette right in his tire tracks every lap. Things got very interesting when the top trio caught and started lapping slower cars. Lord was able to hang on to the top spot when the trio past the first few lapped cars but Reefer was able to get by before long. Reefer held on to take the checkers with Fisette in second. Tommy Lord finished third. Matt Lombard had an impressive fourth place run and Jen Lord came back up through the field after an early race spin to finish fifth.

Billy Clement Jr. brought a new car to the track this week and left with his second win in the Rookie Stocks this season. Dan Murphy Jr. was second followed by Scotty “the Hottie” Duval, John Morin Jr., and proud papa Billy Clement Sr.

Justin Beecher took home the winners trophy in the Thunder Lights. Beecher started third and took over the lead from Meegan Lord early in the race and cruised to victory. After Beecher passed Lord she had her hands full trying to hold off both Jarod Soucy and Chad Wendell. Lord was able to hang on to second place until there were two laps to go. In turn three, Soucy and Lord made contact and it slowed Lord enough that both Wendell and Soucy made it by her. On the last lap there was more contact this time between Soucy and Wendell. Both Soucy and Wendell went spinning but Wendell was able to get his car straightened out and drove off while Soucy sat in the middle of the track. Lord wasn’t too far behind and tried to avoid Soucy when she got to him but made contact and ended up just off the backstretch behind the tire wall. Wendell finished second followed by Austin Erickson.
Timmy Lord won both the Spectator Drags and the Spectator Race. Scotty “the Hottie” Duval won the Flagpole Race.

There is no racing on Sept 11th.
