Charette will<br \/>\nbe behind the wheel of the #27 car owned by Jim \u201cSmokey\u201d Brice, which is the<br \/>\nsame car that Keith Rocco has driven to 3 Late Model victories this season.<br \/>\nBrice purchased the car from Daren Clark and Charette and Brice will use<br \/>\nthis weekend\u2019s CARQUEST Fall Final as a shake-down session in preparation<br \/>\nfor a full schedule of Late Model racing at Stafford for the 2012 season.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n\u201cIt was a real quick decision, Smokey called me up on Monday and asked me to<br \/>\ndrive the car,\u201d said Charette.  \u201cI sold most of my equipment but I\u2019ve kept<br \/>\nthe stuff I needed to go back racing.  With the combination of Smokey with<br \/>\nthe car and me with spare parts and equipment, we\u2019re going to put a package<br \/>\ntogether to shake down at the Fall Final in preparation for the 2012 season.<br \/>\nWe have most of what we need for next season ready to go, so we won\u2019t have<br \/>\nto spend a ton of money getting ready for next season.  Daren had been<br \/>\nhelping Smokey out this year with his DARE Stock and Limited Late Model<br \/>\ncars, and that\u2019s how Smokey came to buy the car from Daren.  It\u2019s definitely<br \/>\na better car that what I had before and I\u2019m pretty excited about getting<br \/>\nback on the track.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Charette was the Late Model Rookie of the Year during the 2004 season at<br \/>\nStafford, and in 6 full seasons of Late Model racing, his best season was in<br \/>\n2006 when he finished 11th in the points standings.  Although Charette\u2019s<br \/>\nbest career Late Model finish was a second place in July 2008, he won\u2019t be<br \/>\ntrying to better that finish this weekend and will wait for the 2012 season<br \/>\nto try to capture his first career Late Model victory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know we\u2019re going to start in the back and our goal is to just shake the<br \/>\ncar down for next season,\u201d said Charette.  \u201cIf we can make some passes on<br \/>\nthe track clean without getting into anyone, then we\u2019ll do that.  There\u2019s a<br \/>\nlot of guys fighting for spots in the points and we don\u2019t want to get in<br \/>\nanyone\u2019s way or ruin anyone\u2019s day.  It\u2019s been a couple of years since I\u2019ve<br \/>\nbeen in a car, but it\u2019s going to be nice to see if we can find those extra<br \/>\ncouple of tenths a second that I was chasing after with my own car.  The<br \/>\nfastest lap I ever did with my car was a 21.8 and you need to be around 21.5<br \/>\nor 21.4 to be really fast and it\u2019s going to be fun to see if we can find<br \/>\nthat time.  It\u2019s a darn good car and it\u2019s darn good equipment, so we\u2019re<br \/>\nlooking forward to getting on the track and seeing what we can do.\u201d<br \/>\nThe 39th Annual CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend kicks off on Friday, Sept. 30<br \/>\nwith pit gates opening at 12:00pm with a practice session running from<br \/>\n2:00pm to 6:30pm for Stafford\u2019s weekly divisions.  The General Admission<br \/>\ngrandstands will be open to the public at no charge for the practice<br \/>\nsession.  The G.A. Grandstands will open at 2pm.<\/p>\n<p>Action continues on Saturday, Oct. 1 with Coors Light Pole Qualifying for<br \/>\nthe Whelen Modified Tour cars at 2:15pm, followed by heat and consolation<br \/>\nraces for Stafford\u2019s weekly divisions.  Saturday\u2019s events wrap up with<br \/>\nfeature events for Stafford\u2019s SK Light Modified, Limited Late Model, and<br \/>\nDARE Stock divisions.  Closing out the Saturday feature events will be the<br \/>\nParadiso-Muska DARE Stock Shoot-Out, a special 8-lap shoot-out all-star race<br \/>\nfor this season&#8217;s DARE Stock feature winners and several wild card entrants.<br \/>\nThe CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend continues on Sunday, Oct. 2 with the famous<br \/>\nStafford CARQUEST Belts &#038; Hose Pit Party kicking off the day\u2019s activities<br \/>\nfrom 11:00am to 12:00pm, with the final SK Modified\u00ae and Late Model feature<br \/>\nevents of 2011 being accompanied by the Whelen Modified Tour 150-lap<br \/>\nCARQUEST Fall Final.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend are available and on sale now at<br \/>\nthe Stafford Motor Speedway Box Office.  Tickets are priced at $35.00 for<br \/>\nadult General Admission, $5.00 for children ages 6-14, and children ages 5 &#038;<br \/>\nunder are free.  Reserved seating is $38.00 for all ages.  All tickets cover<br \/>\nboth Saturday and Sunday admission to the Fall Final.
