Doiron, who ran a part-time schedule in 2011, finished 10th in the final PASS North standings after posting Top-10 finishes in five of his last six races. Dorion ran as high as second in the season finale at Oxford, but he lost valuable track position when he was forced to pit under caution on Lap 96 when his car shut down unexpectedly while running caution laps. He restarted at the back of the field and had worked all the way back to the Top-10 when the race was called after 118 laps by rain.

WHO: Joey Doiron, Berwick, Maine
TEAM: No. 73 JBJ Machine Chevrolet
CREW CHIEF: John Doiron, Berwick, Maine

WHAT: PASS North Series PASS Championship 150
WHERE: Oxford Plains Speedway, Oxford, Maine (.375-mile oval)
STARTED: 6th
FINISHED: 10th

PASS North Series
LAST RACE: September 24, PASS 150, White Mountain Motorsports Park, N. I’m really happy that we had a really good showing here, and everyone knew we were here. I was right all over Brian (Hoar) for the lead for a while. Just riding. The 17 (of Travis Benjamin) got to me, but there was no point in racing yet, so I just held my ground. We had a really good car.

“I think I had the second-best car here, behind (race winner Scott) Mulkern. It just shut off. I’m not sure what happened. We had to come in and pit. We jiggled the wires around and stuff, and it started going again. Obviously, we had to restart in the back of everybody.”

WOULD YOU HAVE BENEFITED IF THE RACE RESTARTED AFTER THE RAIN?

“We were still really good after the pit stop. I think we probably could have gotten up to fifth or sixth if we got going again, but it would have gotten harder after that. It looked like the (Hoar) was coming back a little bit. It’s just kind of the way things have always gone for us here – but it’s still better than having to come down pit road (under green), which is what happened to me in an ACT car.”

STILL, A TOP-10 FINISH IN THE STANDINGS WITHOUT RUNNING THE FULL SCHEDULE HAS TO FEEL GOOD.

“Yeah, that’s still pretty good, I guess. It was a frustrating year. It felt like we had a car capable of being in the Top-5 just about everywhere, but we just had some bad luck. We’ll just get back to work and we’ll have good cars again next year and see what happens.”

Joey Doiron: PASS North Series Oxford Plains Speedway Race Report OXFORD, Maine – Joey Doiron of Berwick, Maine, finished 10th in the PASS North Series season finale, the PASS Championship 150, at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Saturday, October 15.
