(Stafford Springs, CT)— The Stafford Speedway 2012 schedule has been
\nreleased and it has seen a major overhaul. Stafford Speedway will not only
\nroar to life every Friday from May to September but also on Saturday June
\n30. Stafford Speedway will host the annual CARQUEST Extreme program on a
\nSaturday Night. The historically mid-week program headlined by the ISMA
\nSuper Modifieds will now be held on Saturday June 30 and will be titled
\nCARQUEST Super Saturday.

\n\u201cThis is a great way for us to put a new twist into the show,\u201d said Rich
\nPallai, Vice President of Marketing at CARQUEST Auto Parts. \u201cWith the show
\non a Tuesday it was hard for people to get out of work and make it to the
\ntrack, we\u2019re hoping that moving this show to Saturday will make it easier
\nfor the fans and our CARQUEST customers to come out to the track and enjoy a
\ngreat night of racing.\u201d<\/p>\n
CARQUEST Super Saturday will also play host to NEMA Midgets, Pro-4
\nModifieds, and the Second Annual CARQUEST Champions For Charities go-kart
\nrace.<\/p>\n
With support from CARQUEST the ISMA Super Modifieds returned to Stafford in
\n2004 after a nearly 25 year hiatus. Chris Perley has since dominated ISMA\u2019s
\nyearly outing at Stafford winning five of the eight CARQUEST Extreme events.
\nPerley\u2019s reign of the half-mile was almost denied in 2011 when Stafford\u2019s
\nown Ted Christopher dominated the majority of the race but Perley prevailed
\nin a late lapped traffic duel. The excitement is guaranteed to continue in
\n2012 when Christopher hopes to dethrone the defending Stafford victor.<\/p>\n
The CARQUEST Champions for Charities race will also return in 2012 and will
\nbe included in the CARQUEST Super Saturday program. Past open wheel
\nchampions selected a charity, were randomly paired with Senior Outlaw
\ngo-kart teams from the CERIC Kart Racing Series, and worked to collect
\ndonations in the months leading up to the event. The highest fundraiser was
\nawarded the pole position.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone had a great time with the CARQUEST Champions for Charities event,\u201d
\nsaid Wade Gagner the President of the CERIC Kart Racing Series. \u201cThe race
\nwas a great opportunity for our teams to let professional drivers get behind
\nthe wheel of their karts, we look forward to being part of this race in the
\nfuture.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Charity race was won by 2010 SK Modified\u00ae and NASCAR Whelen All-American
\nSeries National Champion Keith Rocco. The race rose in excess of $44,000

The NEMA Midgets and Pro-4 Modifieds will also be on hand for the exciting
\nSaturday night. They will run 30 and 25 laps respectively. Stay tuned to
