(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Motor Speedway is continuing its theme of
\nchange with regards to its 2012 schedule. The 2012 schedule brought with it
\na host of new events in the form of extra distance and double feature
\nnights, as well as a new Saturday event. The changes to the 2012 schedule
\ncontinue as the Connecticut half-mile facility has announced that they will
\nhost the Pro All-Star Series (PASS) for the very first time on Sunday,
\nAugust 26.
\n
\n\u201cWe\u2019ve had a lot of guys asking about racing at Stafford through the years
\nand we finally were able to put a deal together with Mark Arute to bring a
\nPASS race to Stafford,\u201d said PASS President Tom Mayberry. \u201cThis is huge for
\nus to get a race in a Southern New England market at a premier race
\nfacility. It\u2019s hard to find a facility that is better than Stafford and we\u2019
\nre very excited about this opportunity to race at Stafford Motor Speedway.
\nI\u2019m sure we\u2019ll have a large car count and we may even see some of the PASS
\nSouth drivers make the trip up to Stafford for this race.\u201d<\/p>\n
The PASS Super Late Models will see the return to Stafford of drivers like
\n4-time PASS North champion Ben Rowe, Mike Rowe, Travis Benjamin, Bill
\nPenfold, and Kelly Moore, who each have prior experience racing at Stafford
\nin Busch North (now K & N Pro Series East) competition. The PASS field also
\nhas second-generation drivers like Scott Dragon and DJ Shaw along with
\ndrivers like 6-time PASS North Champion Johnny Clark, Scott Alexander,
\nCassius Clark, Canadian drivers Lonnie Summerville and Alexander Gingras,
\nand many more who will make up the starting field. Moore is a three-time
\nwinner at Stafford from the Busch North division and DJ Shaw\u2019s father Dale
\nhas driven to victory lane once at Stafford in a Busch North car, which may
\ngive them an advantage over the rest of the PASS field.<\/p>\n
The PASS Super Late Models will be joined by the PASS Sportsman cars as part
\nof the August 26 show, and as a bonus, Stafford\u2019s Limited Late Model cars
\nwill have the option of joining the Sportsman cars in a combination feature.
\nFurther event details will be released in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

\nSpeedway COO\/GM Mark Arute. \u201cThis is an event that we\u2019ve had discussions
\nabout adding to our schedule for some time now, and with our radical new
\nschedule, the timing was perfect to add this event. There is certainly a
\nconnection to the old Busch North Series with some of the PASS drivers, and
\nwe\u2019re thrilled to have the opportunity for our Limited Late Model cars to
\njoin the PASS Sportsman cars.\u201d<\/p>\n
