{"id":8535,"date":"2011-12-13T17:51:59","date_gmt":"2011-12-13T22:51:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/?p=9076"},"modified":"2011-12-13T17:51:59","modified_gmt":"2011-12-13T22:51:59","slug":"cho-lee-obituary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/2011\/12\/cho-lee-obituary\/","title":{"rendered":"Cho Lee obituary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Cho Lee, 58, of Barre, VT passed away unexpectedly on December 10th while en route to a racing banquet.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born in Barre on Feb. 15, 1955, he was the son of the late Cho Kong and Eva (Wheeler) Lee.<\/p>\n<p>Cho attended Barre schools and was a graduate of Spaulding High School, class of 1972. He continued his education at Norwich University, graduating in 1977 as a cadet. After his schooling, he was a teacher at Twinfield School in Marshfield. His last employment was at the Barre Food Bank in Websterville.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nIn 1981, he married Susan Carbonneau in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. They later divorced but remained close friends.<\/p>\n<p>Cho\u2019s passion for and knowledge of New England Auto Racing were well-known. He was an integral member of New England Antique Racers and an avid historian of Thunder Road and Catamount Speedway in Vermont, as well as numerous now-closed speedways in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Cho maintained a massive collection of historical racing items such as programs, photos and newspaper clippings.  He also was a walking encyclopedia of racing history and never missed an opportunity to discuss racing history with anyone and everyone who was interested in the topic.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include two daughters, Sheena Dawn Lee and her companion, Amanda Morgan, of Barre, and Cassandra Grant, of Calais; his ex-wife, Susan Wilbur, of Barre; two grandchildren, Jaimen Lupien and Casey Holmes Jr., both of Barre. He is also survived by one brother, Wing Lee, of Seattle.<\/p>\n<p>Contributions in Cho&#8217;s memory may be sent to Lloyd Hutchins, P.O. Box 752, Barre, VT 05641.
