West Springfield, MA. — Chris Pasteryak, of Lisbon, CT., was<\/p>\n
crowned 2011 Valenti Modified Racing Series Champion last night<\/p>\n
at the 8th annual awards banquet. The event was held at the<\/p>\n
Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, West Springfield, Massachusetts.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Three wins, and 9 top-five finishes paved the way to the title for<\/p>\n
the 31 year old second-generation driver. <\/p>\n
Pasteryak thanked his wife, parents, family, friends, crewmembers,<\/p>\n
and sponsors, for their support in helping him reach his goal. The<\/p>\n
new two-time champion recognized and thanked series officials and<\/p>\n
the media. Pasteryak was the series champion in 2008.<\/p>\n
Presentations were made to the top fourteen drivers for 2011.<\/p>\n
Les Hinckley, Rowan Pennink, Mike Holdridge, Norman Wrenn,<\/p>\n
Louie Mechalides, Rob Goodenough, Dwight Jarvis, Joe Doucette,<\/p>\n
Max Zachem, Timmy Jordan, Jon McKennedy, Jacob Dore, Kenny<\/p>\n
Barry and Todd Annarummo, were all recognized.<\/p>\n
The top 15 car owners were also recognized. CCP Inc (Charlie Pasteryak),<\/p>\n
CMR Racing (Chuck Montville), Gary Casella, M&D Racing (Holdridge),<\/p>\n
Advanced Gas Distributors (Wrenn), Kevin Stuart, Ron Goodenough,<\/p>\n
Daniel Cabral, Max Zachem, Patrick Jordan, Bonnie Jarvis, Jack<\/p>\n
Bateman, Jon McKennedy, Robert Worell, and Vinnie Annarummo.<\/p>\n
The annual \u201cAchievement\u201d awards, chosen by series officials,<\/p>\n
were also presented.<\/p>\n
Joe Doucette, of Framingham, MA., was presented the \u201cSPAFCO Most<\/p>\n
Improved Driver\u201d award. Jack Bateman received the \u201cTough Luck\u201d award.<\/p>\n
Max Zachem the \u201cSportsmanship\u201dAward, and \u201cMechanic of the Year\u201d<\/p>\n
was presented to Butch Shea, of the CMR (#06) team.<\/p>\n
Timmy Jordan received the \u201cMountainside Graphix Rookie of the Year\u201d<\/p>\n
award, Gary Casella, the \u201cDedication to Racing\u201d award, and this year\u2019s<\/p>\n
recipient of the \u201cAbove and Beyond\u201d award was presented in memory of<\/p>\n
John Hoyt, to the entire MRS Staff.<\/p>\n
The prestigious \u201c7-11\u201d award, for professionalism on and off the track.<\/p>\n
was presented to Mike Holdridge by New England Hall of Fame driver<\/p>\n
Bob Polverari.<\/p>\n
A 15-race schedule was announced for 2012 with the first event scheduled for<\/p>\n
