(Stafford Springs, CT)—When Stafford Motor Speedway released its 2012
\nschedule, it strayed from the norm and had a host of changes in store for
\nthe 2012 season with extra distance and double feature nights. The 2012
\nStafford schedule has another change to announce and that is the addition of
\nthe Pro-4 Modified division to the CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend, which is
\nscheduled for Sept. 28-Sept. 30.

\nThe Pro-4 Modified division will run a 20-lap feature event as part of the
\nSaturday schedule of events for the CARQUEST Fall Final, joining Stafford\u2019s
\nSK Lights, Limited Late Models, and DARE Stocks in feature action on
\nSaturday, September 29th.<\/p>\n
The addition of the Pro-4 Modifieds to the CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend gives
\nthe Pro-4 Modifieds two race dates at Stafford during the 2012 season. The
\nPro-4 Modifieds join the ISMA Supermodifieds and NEMA Midgets on Saturday,
\nJune 30 as part of the CARQUEST Super Saturday program before returning to
\nStafford as part of the CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend festivities.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re very excited about having two races at Stafford this season,\u201d said
\nStan Mertz, Business Manager for Pro-4 Modifieds of New England. \u201cThe Fall
\nFinal is a great addition to our schedule. Our competitors love racing at
\nStafford, it is certainly one of the best tracks in the area and the
\nresponse from our competitors was overwhelmingly positive when we announced
\nthis event at our annual meeting.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Pro-4 Modifieds have made two visits to Stafford during a season once
\nbefore during the 2005 season. The Pro-4 Modifieds were on hand for the
\nCARQUEST Extreme Tuesday program and they made a second trip to Stafford as
\npart of a special open wheel Friday night race program with the Whelen
\nModified Tour and Stafford\u2019s SK Modifieds\u00ae.<\/p>\n
Norm Wrenn has owned Stafford Motor Speedway when it comes to Pro-4 Modified
\ncompetition. Wrenn has won the Pro-4 Modified feature 4 consecutive times
\nas part of CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday. Wrenn will have two opportunites to
\nextend his Stafford winning streak during the 2012 season. Other Pro-4
\nModified drivers who have won at Stafford include Mike LaJoie, Mike Weeden,
\nAndy Major, and Jeff Zuidema.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think we have several guys who can give Norm a run for his money,\u201d said
\nMertz. \u201cWe\u2019ve had a lot of guys who have stepped up their game and I think
\nRob Richardi and our defending Pro-4 Modified champion Tyler Anderson are
\nthe best bets to knock Norm off the top step of the Stafford podium. We\u2019ve
\nhad more different feature winners in the past couple of years than we\u2019ve
\never had, and we\u2019re looking forward to putting on another great show at
\nStafford.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 40th Annual CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend will get underway Friday,
\nSeptember 28 with a practice session for Stafford\u2019s weekly divisions. The
\npractice session will be open to the public at no charge. The CARQUEST Fall
\nFinal will continue on Saturday, September 29 with qualifying for the Whelen
\nModified Tour and heat races for Stafford\u2019s weekly divisions as well as the
\nPro-4 Modifieds. Saturday\u2019s racing action will conclude with feature events
\nfor the SK Light, Limited Late Model, DARE Stock, and Pro-4 Modified
\ndivisions. The CARQUEST Fall Final will conclude on Sunday, September 30
\nwith the CARQUEST Belts and Hose Pit Party followed by Stafford\u2019s SK
\nModifieds\u00ae and Late Models joining the Whelen Modified Tour in feature
\naction.<\/p>\n
Tickets for the CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend are available and on sale now
\nthrough the SMS Box Office. Tickets are priced at $38.50 for adult general
\nadmission tickets, $5.00 for children ages 6-14, and children ages 5 and
\nunder are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Reserved
\nseating will be priced at $42.00 for all ages. As always, Stafford Motor
\nSpeedway offers free parking with overnight parking available.<\/p>\n
