(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Motor Speedway\u2019s all-time winningest
\ndriver, Ted Christopher, will have an extra opportunity to add to his career
\nwin total in addition to his SK Modified\u00ae and Whelen Modified Tour duties at
\nStafford in 2012. With the addition of the Pro All-Star Series (PASS) to
\nthe Stafford schedule, Christopher has secured a ride with car owner Scott
\nMulkern for the PASS race on Sunday, August 26 at Stafford, and he will be
\nlooking to add another win to his Stafford win total, which currently stands
\nat 114 feature victories.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce I heard about the PASS race coming to Stafford, I called Scott
\nMulkern, and we put a deal together for me to drive his car at Stafford,\u201d
\nsaid Christopher. \u201cHe\u2019s got a real good car and real good equipment, he won
\nat Oxford this year, so I\u2019ll be looking to attack and hopefully take home
\nanother trophy. I won the first Modified Racing Series race at Stafford,
\nand it would be a good thing for me if we can have another race like the MRS
\nrace was.\u201d<\/p>\n
Christopher has won in a PASS car before, winning the 2004 PASS race at
\nThompson Speedway, and he has won at Stafford in a ProStock, including 4
\nraces in a row during the 1996 season. Christopher hopes that he will enjoy
\na homefield advantage over the rest of the competition when the PASS cars
\ntake the green flag.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of these guys, it will be their first time racing at Stafford, so
\nhopefully that will be an advantage for me,\u201d said Christopher. \u201cThe PASS
\ncars are a lot like ProStock cars, but they\u2019re a bit more sophisticated with
\nbigger engines and better shocks, so the cars should get around Stafford
\nreal good. PASS is a great series, they have great car counts, and everyone
\nloves to race at Stafford. I\u2019m really looking forward to the race, it
\nshould be a lot of fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
Chances are that Christopher won\u2019t be the only Stafford regular on track
\nduring the PASS event. Stafford\u2019s Limited Late Model cars will be able to
\nrun with the PASS Sportsman class for their feature event with minor changes
\nto their cars.<\/p>\n
The PASS Sportsman cars run on 8\u201d wheels and weigh a minimum of 2,900 pounds
\nwith a maximum of 56% for left side weight. Stafford\u2019s LLM cars run on 7\u201d
\nwheels with a minimum weight of 3,100 pounds with 53% maximum left side
\nweight. Stafford Ltd. Late Model cars have the option of remaining on 7\u201d
\ntires for the pass feature, or they can run on the same 8\u201d tires that the
\nPASS Sportsman cars run on. If Stafford cars race on the 7\u201d tires, they
\nwill have to weight a minimum of 2,950 pounds, while cars with 8\u201d wheels
\nwill have to weigh a minimum of 3,000 pounds, and all cars must adhere to
\nthe maximum 56% left side weight before, during, and after the PASS feature.
